Wow... can someone please take the breakup scene between Jom and Ohm and show it to 95% of the GMMTV actors, Gun Napat, and everyone else, please... that's how you cry, that's how you feel emotional after a breakup... textbook example of a proper scene and not the usual scenes we see with forced screams, weird ways of crying that look like the character is half smiling, half crying or a complete lack of emotion.
It's hilarious when I read comments about how this series is giving some viewers the "telenovela" vibe... I'm Mexican so I grew up with telenovelas and no... this series has zero telenovela vibes... at least in Mexican telenovelas you have a plot... silly if you want, but there is something. In this series, Itt is a whiny, spoiled brat and Day is a jerk that resorts to violence and verbal abuse all the time (like screaming at Itt in almost every episode or trying to drown Gear on episode 9 just for not telling him where Itt was). The bad guy (P) just appeared on episode 9 seeking revenge out of nowhere... Nan and Mac seem quite useless characters so far and the story has centered around Day's memory loss far too long without anything important happening to the rest of the characters.
In telenovelas you still have one or two actors who do a decent job despite the silly plot or dumb storylines... Frank and Long have never really done a stellar job in other series and here is no exception. According to some reviews/comments, both get away with bad acting sometimes because Frank is "cute" and Long is so "hot". I wish we could get more of the Gear/Night couple as both actors, albeit not excellent, at least seem more credible in their roles.
Are you enjoying the KAIST professor episodes? I wish the entire show was now this format. These season 2 episodes…
So far, it seems there won't be season 3... the last episode that airs this Sunday is labeled as "Master in the House, The Final Story"... so it's quite likely there won't be season 3... at least not in the near future.
Are you enjoying the KAIST professor episodes? I wish the entire show was now this format. These season 2 episodes…
I think that was more an issue of having so many people in a single episode... plus Doyoung and BamBam being the youngest, I think they still do the polite thing of waiting for their senior colleagues to finish talking before they say their opinions, but having so many people on screen, makes it quite complicated for them to have enough screen time. Especially when we know Yang Se Hyung, Kim Dong Hyun and sometimes Eun Ji Won are almost like hyenas when it comes to wanting more screen time.

I am but not all of it... the topics are quite interesting and the professor clearly knows what he is doing... but having Yang Se Hyung trying to be funny or witty almost all the time or having Kim Dong Hyun always trying to appear smart ends up annoying me a bit. It is a shame that you had Mimi in the first 2 episodes and she barely spoke... and some of the situations seem a bit extreme and created just to have some controversial discussions (like the conversation they had about pushing someone off a bridge to stop a train and save others from getting killed). But yes, I think this format worked the best because the professor was able to engage the members in conversations they are not used to have on TV, so that was good.
Sadly this season was setup to fail from the very beginning... 1. A show that was originally made for Lee Seung Gi after being discharged from the military now faced not having him on the show. The show was almost tailored-made for him so he could shine whenever the master was a singer and always be in the center of everything... so not having him, forced Yang Se Hyung to step up, but it didn't work out. 2. I've always said that adding Kim Dong Hyun as a fixed cast member was a mistake and I stand by it. I still don't get how he gets cast in so many shows because he always plays the same annoying role, he is stubborn without having a reason to be as he is almost always wrong (see Amazing Saturday or The Great Escape for examples) and he didn't provide too much aside from his constant screaming during "scary" moments in some episodes of the show. 3. Eun Ji Won was great with Kang Ho Dong in the table tennis show and also in "New Journey to the West"... but in here he took the role of the grumpy old man and it was fine for a bit, but then it got boring. 4. Lee Dae Ho had no time to showcase anything... he is just too kind and most of the times he got lost and couldn't shine with all the silly arguments between Kim Dong Hyun and Eun Ji Won and the exaggeration that Yang Se Hyung always brought with his reactions and laughter. 5. Doyoung and BamBam were decent but not great... but it's complicated to bond and have good teamwork when they missed 3 and 2 episodes respectively out of the 16 (assuming they appear in the finale on April 23). I know Yook Sung Jae and Cha Eun Woo didn't promote as much as Doyoung and BamBam are currently doing because they were acting and then COVID cancelled all concerts, but I don't remember YSJ or CEW missing any shows in season 1. 6. You can't have season 2 if you just bring back the same masters from season 1. They promised to renew the show but delivered the same format with almost the same experts. Kim Young Chul is probably the least funny comedian I know; Im Chang Jung really wants to appeal to the younger generations by playing golf and also appearing on Showterview with Sunmi; the episode with Joo PD and actors Shin Hyun Joon, Jung Joon Ho and columnist Kwak Jeong Eun provided barely anything; the episodes with the curlers and with actor Jin Seon Kyu wasted so many opportunities of being more interesting; the episodes with Choo Shin Soo were fairly similar to Ryu Hyun Jin's episodes in season 1 and the rest were OK but nothing remarkable. That's why ratings were quite low. So, yeah, the end of season 2 was to be expected...the only surprise is how soon it came.
You're welcome!I have a few reviews that seem very popular like this one, despite the series being on the bad…
no worries... I got what you were trying to say and not that you were complaining... so no big deal... and yeah, Physical Therapy was such a waste of a show... sadly, it's become the norm lately
Thank you so much for writing such a great review! (I don’t know how much you’ll remember about this series,…
You're welcome! I have a few reviews that seem very popular like this one, despite the series being on the bad side... I'm glad it's useful and sorry for making you read all the spoilers... but at least it helped you decide to drop the show. As for the Both-Newyear couple... I agree that a "regular" or "boring" BL couple is not the norm on any Thai BL show and it is nice to see that a regular/boring couple can also be happy and have a long-term relationship that is plain vanilla instead of all the drama we get with the usual BL couples in TV shows... It is also rare to see an actual BL couple acting on a BL show because other than them, we recently saw Porsch/Arm in AiLongNhai, so that was nice. However, in terms of things they add to the plot or to the storyline is where my comment was headed... since they don't have drama, not a lot of arguments, they are no involved in a love triangle or things like that, many people don't like it because they either want to see kissing scenes or sex scenes between the couples or they want to see some drama. I think a lot of the usual BL audience is getting used to having couples with a lot of problems so when they see a normal/plain one, it becomes a surprise.
This has to be one of the worst BL series ever produced by a low-budget company... I mean, we've seen plenty of mediocre/terrible ones coming from bigger companies and some bad series coming from other low-budget companies that at least have one or two things that are worth saving. But, just how big of a disaster this series was is really something incredible... poor directing that gave us 6 episodes of jumping from one issue to another; poor writing that gave us plot holes the size of the craters on the Moon and zero storyline that we could follow along; immature actors trying to do very serious topics like BDSM, sex, love/relationships, jealousy, cyber bullying, among others; older actors playing useless roles normally filled with overly exaggerated gestures or hand movements... and this is just scratching the surface on how bad this series was.
They are asking for 1 million subscribers on their Youtube channel in order to make (or... scary thought) season 2... one part of me wants them to make it so I can see just how much lower this company can go... the other part of me is completely scared of the same thing. If season 1 was this disastrous, what might happen in season 2 could be even worse.
I'm up to 108 and I know YSJ and LSY are leaving soon and that makes me sad. I see all these changes and I also…
Yeah, the pandemic didn't help either as they had to re-adjust the format of the show and couldn't spend much time with the "master" and it never fully worked for them. They also seemed to run out of masters bringing several previous masters for several episodes. Now that season 2 began today (January 1, 2023), we'll see how the absence of LSG with all the legal issues he had with his former agency might affect the dynamics of the show with YSH being the leader and the inclusion of former baseball player Lee Dae Ho and another idol, GOT7's BamBam (who actually appeared in an episode of the Malay version of the show). So far, the first episode of season 1 they are bringing back 4 masters again, but I need to wait for the subtitles tomorrow to see how the show went.
So many comments and it's only episode 1 (episode 2 aired today but with no subs some of us can't watch it)... I've read that we shouldn't be too harsh to judge the show based on one episode and I agree to a certain extent because these actors are all new and this company has never shown any type of promise to train and care for their actors, hence the change of cast from season 1 to season 2 and then again to this season. That being said, the acting was mediocre at best so I guess the acting coaches and the director are clearly not doing their jobs. AND, I was under the idea (based on the synopsis written here which is what a lot of places have) that this season will continue where season 2 left off. If I remember correctly, the last episode has everyone looking for Wayo because he ran away after Park posted pictures of him sleeping but a hickey on his neck. Ming comes to the classroom where Pha is beating Park up and tells them Wayo's father found out about it and Wayo went with him. If the company followed that story, then they wouldn't need to have a 5-minute recap with all the couples sitting on the couch... it made no sense in terms of the continuity of the story. But, that seems to be solved magically so we can focus on the main couple which will be Tharn and Lom.
A lot of series deserved second seasons and never happened... A lot of series had second seasons that should have never happened... but at least they've kept most if not all of the cast... this series has been mishandled mess after mess and somehow we've had 3 seasons with 3 whole new casts each time! Go figure!
(spoilers for ep 8)different people like different things. I genuinely love this drama. and I genuinely love the…
You should read my comment better then as I never said that "writing hate comments on MDL would improve the overall quality of BL dramas made in Thailand"... my comment was more in the sense of needing to write more intelligent and fact-based comments when criticizing a show instead of just writing super negative things or writing that the show is the best ever because of the hot scenes or the super cute lead actors, there is nothing wrong with demanding a bit of quality instead of having 10 mediocre BLs. You should also refer to a lot of Youtube BL blogs that actually use information and read the comments on this website when they do interviews with Thai BL actors. More people read these comments than you think. I do agree that this series has some good points, Sea and Jimmy are rookies so it won't be perfect, but my statement about GMMTV and their BLs still applies. Is frustrating to have them produce 5 BLs in a year and only bits and pieces of each one, or maybe one full series if we're lucky, are good. With all the budget they have and acting coaches and hoards of actors and directors and producers, several shows just this year were miles ahead of their series and some were done by companies with far less budget and also rookie actors (see for example and just from Thailand: "Until We Meet Again", "The Yearbook", "Not Me", "Manner of Death", "He's Coming to Me", "Something in My Room", "You're My Sky", "My Ride", or the combo "I Told Sunset About You"/"I Promised You the Moon", plus several other shows from Taiwan, South Korea and the Philippines).

Not sure how accurate it is as I don't speak Thai... it might have been wrongly translated in terms of "not wanting to do BL" vs. "might not do BL again" but whatever the case it was, the focus of my post was not Perth's work, but the issue of people not liking those who complain about bad quality BL series.
