For people upset abt Somin not being main lead in part 2 remember when she said she would only be master and pupil to Uk till she gets her energy back and becomes Naksu again which means that by the end of part 1 she would be Naksu again. Part 2 would possibly be Naksu going on with her revenge which means Yoon Jung would be main as Naksu

imo there is progress in the characters. First when Yeonsu broke up with Ung she cried by herself and left the tap on and didn't open up to anyone but there's a parallel scene where she closes the tap and cries and gets comforted by her grandma. This shows that she has finally opened up and is slowly no longer bottling up her emotions. On the other hand, during CU and YS's relationship, CU never really opposed to anything and always went by YS's lead by not questioning her actions and what they could mean e.g when they broke up for good although he asked her for the reason he still gave up and accepted it. Now although his feelings for YS are still very visible he still made up his mind not to get back together. Rn there might not be any progress in their relationship and it's regressing with them going back to friends which is before the "lovers" stage but there is indeed individual development and growth in each character

He def fell in love with the CP bcs when he saw the CP after he saw her in the forest he thought they looked alike and the CP said it wasn't him and Ji Un apologised and didn't bring up the person in the forest again. If he fell for the person in the forest then he wouldn't have had those feelings to the CP
