For Deng Wei fans, I apologize in advance, I'm only on ep 6 so just judging it from this point. I really feel the role of Jing isn't made for him. He fits Cang Xuan character more because he has this aura of a leader and strategist that it feels hard to sympathize for Jing. The way I see it, Jing was a tortured character, so should have this look of vulnerability. An actor who can emote pain and hurt with only micro expressions would have been a better choice, a male version of YangZi.

Love and Redemption has a very happy ending. His character does suffer a lot in that show.

Bittersweet. It's up to the viewer to make up their own ending. But the story is really worth the watch.

Maybe the Princess will be a good addition. FDB did say in episode 39 to her that Who knows what would happen in the future.

Best slight romance is between FDB and the princess.

If you like stories about brotherhood and solving crimes, this one is so worth it. Also, do not expect romance.

I think the big problem with this show is that its pure romance, it became boring. Even the resolution of the sister and mother arc is just anticlimactic. No angst or anything memorable about it. Not like 2016 era of romcoms, they are still memorable even after many years.

If you stop at 5 min, happy ending. If you continue, I'm not sure what that ending is.

Have you watched Love and Redemption? It's a happy ending for ChengYi's character. Its a romance genre though and full of angst.

Even for ChengYi, I think I'll pass on this one. Nothing against Zhang Yu Xi. It would just ruin my memories of LaR. I'll always think Zhang Yu Xi was the sister in law of Si Feng :D

From what I've read, cdramas need straight ml and fl romance even if story is about brotherhood, because of China's ban on BL. Even slight romance just to pass China's censorship.
