I know what you mean; perhaps it's true in the novel, but the series' events are very fast-paced and not as precise as in the novel. The series will end after 3 episodes, which means he'll be forgiven in less time.
I only watched two episodes and waited for the rest to air. I kind of know what's going on; I just saw short clips and read the comments. What annoys me is that I think I know what will happen next—that Jimmy will apologize to Toh and he'll forgive him easily in the end.
