I liked some of the changes they made and the chemistry is there, but the pacing is off and it’s hard to actually resonate with the romance like in the Japanese original. Overall they just kind of skip around too much without context and leave out key conversations.

Dropped after episode 5, incredibly boring and unfair for how they judge each round. Most of the cooking scenes were cut out in order to focus on the judge scenes, which was a huge disappointment. The food looked delicious at least

Sorry for the late reply! I assume you've watched it by now, but I'll still answer. The lead's love interest suddenly dies, no explanation or anything, just he died. Then the lead essentially becomes a pimp for the the dead lover's mother, paying her monthly until she also dies. I watched in the theatre when it first came out, so many poor representations of the actual gay community in Tokyo and a movie that should have just finished after the death of his lover. In the audience there were even people asleep from boredom...

The low ratings are because of the second half of the movie. Would highly recommend if you watch it to stop after the first big event.

Bittersweet ending, but the ending doesn't feel like a BL film anymore. I just watched the movie in theatres about an hour ago.
