Surprisingly heartwarming without too many clichés
This show easily became one the best kdramas I've ever watched. I'm so happy someone recommended it here ;-; Watching 17 year old Hani change her future self and turning her life around was absolutely beautiful. The scenes with her and her family were emotionally healing, sometimes it takes a little push for you to say what always needed to :) And don't get me started on the male lead. HE'S SO CUTE!!! The romance is definitely not the main focus of the show, but his and the main character's endless support for each other were so great to watch :') And what I loved the most was how well developed each character was: rather than being 2 dimensional characters who are characterised as either good or bad, the show focuses on their motives for how they act. The aunt was the closest this show had to a villain, but rather than showing her as irredeemablely evil they chose to show why she acted the way she did, and her family ultimately embraced her even when she acted in ways that hurt them all. And Anthony maturing arc was really nice to see :)) I was also very happy when he wasn't some pityable 2nd male lead but someone who felt inspired to be a better person due to Hani. And he accepts that Hani was interested in yu hyeon without throwing an immature tantrum like some 2nd male leads do :') Lastly, Hani's character was just BEAUTIFUL. Both the older and younger versions, throughout the show you can see how she's an amazing person (and she reconciled with her childhood best friend!!). PLS WATCH THIS SHOW LOL
