Wow. The trailer looks really good. An ML and FL who scheme together, support each other in everything they do, and truly care for each other... I'm so looking forward to this! Expecting a power couple hehe
I feel like the imperial examination will be a very important part of the drama. And every episode is building…
I read that Eunuch Hong was loyal to FX but ended up betraying him in the end... Not sure if it's true but 😭 And the ending credits has a clip of Wan'er shedding tears in her wedding dress lol I can't wait to see what that's about
What I love about this drama: - There's no absolute villain. Yes, there's somebody behind everything, but in the end there are so many layers to their character, that you just cannot tag them as 'evil' or an 'ally'. Chen PingPing for example is like a father figure to Fan Xian. Despite how he betrayed Fan Xian, he loves him like his own child. He will do everything for him. The Emperor again has extreme mood swings, but we have to understand that it's because of the extreme power he holds that sometimes stops him from showing anyone too much favour.
- Despite there not being any major arcs unlike last season, this season rather focuses on the buildup of his character after going through so much betrayal and experiencing the real world. Fan Xian now wants to do things himself, and that's shown in the imperial examination arc.
- Less focus on romance. Controversial opinion, but I believe Joy of Life is one of those dramas that could do even better without the romance. Yes, the FL sounds a lot more mature in this season but I still am not a fan. I like that she and SiLiLi have very less screentime (I like Haitang Duo Duo lol)

Agree with both of these points. He also gets an ally in the palace which is a huge step up in power dynamics. I'm not sure how huge of a role Eunuch Hong will play but I'm sure it's going to be important.
Also I'm super excited to see him take over Neiku. I hope they dedicate a significant number of episodes to this instead of his marriage.
This is MY honest opinion about Joy in life season 2 I feel like season 2 is getting to nowhere it is good it…
I feel like the imperial examination will be a very important part of the drama. And every episode is building Fan Xian's character from 'I don't think I can follow my mother's footsteps' to him slowly and unknowingly heading in the same direction himself. Revenge is not easy when you're a nobody, and all this growth will eventually lead to the impactful scenes that we expect.
This season doesn't disappoint for sure. I desperately need the next few episodes. I also like how Wan'er stood up for herself and her marriage. I honestly am not a fan of her character and will never be but this was a good addition
Didn't think I'd like it so much. I can resonate with Mi Jung's feelings and Gu is charming in his own way. He doesn't have to say a word to show his feelings for her. It is evident in his smile when he watches her eat, when he worships her. This drama definitely deserves so much more recognition. The actors did a great job.
is the plot driven by romance most of time? i prefer fantasy romance mainly so I'd love to give it a try
yes it is, i'd say that the romance is amazing. it drives the entire plot, and the love tokens and words exchanged between the leads is what makes the drama iconic. there's a lot of longing and it's so obvious they love each other, BUT there's also actual story that keeps everything going and interesting. sorry for explaining too much but i'm sure you'll love it :)
The ML saved this. The FL was annoying, and it was frustrating how she chose to trust rumors over what her boyfriend had to say. Even 9 years later, when the ML is in literal tears and asking her why she couldn't ask him if he really did it, she tells him to get lost because she apparently suffered more than him. Super selfish. I wish the ML was less forgiving.
Can you share yours thoughts? spoilers? this drama is good? second lead syndrome? second female lead evil? misunderstanding?…
As of now, the theme seems to be hinting at comedy and slice of life. The second lead does have a pairing with another girl later on, and I also don't really see him and the FL together? So I think the second lead syndrome is not much (I've also seen people saying otherwise though). As for the second FL ... I haven't reached that part yet. And there were some misunderstandings, but they didn't last for very long and ended up being funny. I have a feeling this might get serious in the second half, but so far, this is one of the best modern dramas I've watched this year.
Lu Miao very mature in her own way. The way she comforts Jiang Hao Yue about his mom, and doesn't really make a big deal out of it when her he scolds her because she knows that it's for her own good. There's just something really special about this drama, feels a little nostalgic maybe because of the ost.
To everyone commenting abkut the age gap, the age gap is in real life and NOT in the story. The actors are all professionals and were selected for their talent. I would rather see someone who can portray Lu Miao as Lu Miao.

Waiting for Ep 21 not so patiently :')

Season 2 definitely does not disappoint :)
