I'm so glad there are so many commenters that love Wen Yong and those that also feel the drama was overhyped. I need antagonists to be smart and protagonists to be smarter. What ruined the drama for me was not liking Ling Wang that much. Sure he had his moments but I can't stand characters that are loyal to a fault. To the point where it's just pure stupidity.

I also can't stand the cliche of I'm going to leave you hurting to protect you bullshit. That's why Wen Yong appealed to me so much. He was ride or die with Xue Wu. Even putting Xue Wu first whilst conquering China. Hell he was ready to throw it all away for her. Of course as a emperor you shouldn't do that but oh my heart! Ling Wang is the other kind. His patriotism is respectable but because of that, he should not have a family. A wife needs her husband and a child needs their father. If Ling Wang has the martyr mentality, he should fly solo.

I was in love with Wen Yong just as much but the ending was quite satisfying for me because he got to her first in the after life =) Ling Wang and Xue Wu's love might have been "epic" but it always bothered me that he put his country before her.

He is the perfect Yi Lian Kai in Seige in Fog. Great casting job =)

I loved him in Legend of Dugu, well sort of since I watched his scenes raw and don't fully understand Mandarin =P Does anyone picture him as a vampire or is that just me?

I'm up to ep.13. Anyone else can't stand Yanyun? I think her character so far is perhaps the bottom of any female character...and I'm not just talking about this drama =P
