I'm with you on hating the Emperor. When he gave her the frost reed, I was cool with him but then the birth control made me go back. She's more confused than ever! I don't hate her character, I hate that she's written as a forever victim being tortured.

It's crazy how many comments I get trying to negate my opinion or trying to argue. Like bruh idc! I purposely seek out comments that have similar opinions because we're obvi on the same page and can relate.

I don't get why rando online opinions are upsetting to others. Not all dramas are great but obviously we love the genre despite it. For me, it's a frustrating watch because I hate a lot of the tropes. I tuned in for Peng Xiaoran because I too feel it's a shame her career didn't take off. What's even more sad is she's playing the exact role she said she wouldn't after GMP.

I agree that it's practically copy and paste from GMP, but the OG did it SO much better. I feel nothing from the leads. The way their past was told, I was like that's it?!
