YXW wanted TTJ to kill her because as of that moment, she failed her mission, and she felt despair that she not only doomed all creatures to the dark future she came from, she also almost killed the person she cared for. She must have felt that there was no point in living by that time.

After YXW's betrayal, bro didn't want to live longer😭😭😭

But BL acting out the strangling scene was top notch🥺 even if you could see Bitchang not pulling hard enough, BL really sold the scene, so much that I doubted what I was seeing (acting, or is she really being choked?)😭

She didn't also expect to survive.. like she knew the consequences of offing a king so she removed herself from the family so they could survive... not knowing that the Ye family would still stand by her no matter what😭

All in all, there were 8 bloodspits for this episode, I think.

That wedding scene, and the dungeon scene that followed, is two of the best-acted scenes I've ever watched in dramas, whether it be c- or k- or j-dramas, or western ones. LYX and BL portrayed the two tortured souls brilliantly, bringing out all the pain of betrayal, hate, and love in brilliantly written scenes. We can't rave enough about these two scenes that I think cemented this drama in our consciousness (certainly did for me).
It's still hard to watch, but you can't look away because you feel for both of them. TTJ for the feeling of betrayal from the one you love, infinitely more painful because as he said, she was the light that he had cherished but feared of losing the most. He talked about hating her, but he actually let him hurt her, surrendering to his death by her hands, and he even held back from completely hurting her at a very heated moment. YXW, or LSS actually, for the devastation of having failed to fulfill her mission which involved hurting the one she had learned to love, and then discovering that she had mistaken TTJ's actions. The realization on her face as she thought back on everything TTJ had done was painful to watch.

This is hard to comment on.

The embroidering of the veil's impact kinda lessened here, with the reveal that the couple should embroider it together...
I like the novel version better, when TTJ by himself embroidered the veil, which made LSS waver because that proved how much TTJ could have loved her.

I'm still puzzled as to why YXW suddenly wanted to be her empress... it felt so out of the blue...
In the novel, she wanted to be an empress just because TTJ seemed to expect her to be greedy, so she let him think that and told him to make her an empress.
Here, even if TTJ really loved her and wanted her to be his empress, they never pushed for it... until now. And it was even YXW who told him to make her an empress.
Why?
