This faceoff also brings to mind all the dramas and movies about angels and demons... like why exactly are these supposedly powerful beings fascinated by the lives of mortals? Some stories answer that it's their inevitable mortality, that mortals live their lives as fully as they can knowing that it could end anytime, which is fascinating to these immortal beings. Some stories answer it's the way mortals swing from good to bad, and vice versa, and the greyness of their morality when these angels and demons only know one thing, good or bad, with no inbetween. Some stories say it's the way the mortals face their inevitable fates, how they try to go against their assigned fates when these superior beings couldn't.
This drama contained them all, and what makes this drama unforgettable to me is how it portrayed the conundrums of being human.🥺

And with that, TTJ now learns how the AIDW could be stopped, and how the DG could be destroyed forever. When he only meant to make LSS hate him so she could leave him and go far away from him, he now has to make her cut off her ties with him so she could ascend into becoming a true god who can defeat DG🥺

This whole monologue of TTJ's really encapsulates his growth as a character. He started off as a detached person (Hostage Prince) whose only aim in existing is to survive, suffered betrayal at the hands of those he trusted, got a taste of power and how it could help him get what he wants, and experienced love and loss. But his time as CJM and now faced with his inevitable fate in ADG, he now sees the other side of he coin, where all the people he had loved and lost along the way contributed to who he is now. They were both good and bad, but they all shaped who he is as TTJ. 🥺🥺🥺

For me, I think the level of evil lies in the origins... DM and YBC were worse than SY, JM, and maybe ADG, who had definitely killed more people than the first two, because they did all those things with selfishness and duplicity.
YBC did evil things because she felt her life has been unfair, and that she, the daughter of a concubine, deserved to live a life at par with the legitimate Ye siblings. She pretended to be good and kind, but when she received genuine love and honor from XL, she had to spoil it by believing and letting XL believe it was from the stolen love lines. Thus, she destroyed an innocent life, and affected others.
DM as well was selfish and dishonest. He professed many times to love Chu Huang and their daughter, but all he did in return for their genuine love for him was to manipulate them to give him power amd advantages.
SY and JM were inherently evil, yes, but their redeeming quality was in their loyalty to the DG and in the case of JM, to each other. They could have been turned to good had they seen through what CJM was trying to do, which was truly the intention of ADG then. As lackeys, I don't think they truly saw ADG's intentions but they only saw the AIDW as demons rising on top. And even that desire to see demons rising was kinda respectable, since as SY and JM said before, demons have always been trampled by the immortal and mortal sects jist because it's in their nature to eat travelers on the path, so they're fighting back for a chance to live. Not all demons are evil anyway, because, just look at goofy JM😅
ADG is just tired of his job. Dude is burnt out (literally😆) and wants to retire peacefully.🤣
