i think it might be better if day remained blind. i'm not a fan of disability erasure but it's okay. it was a…
Same. In most dramas I watch with a disabled character, they get cured by the end. So many writers seem to think the only way for a disabled character to get a happy ending is for them to no longer be disabled, even when it totally defeats the purpose of so much of the story. Like with this, so much of Day's story was about him learning to accept that he was blind, so when him finally accepting it soon turns to him being able to see again, it feels like we did all that character development for nothing.
Hoping that they chill on the nc scenes as the show goes on. I get it, sex sells, but we got like 5, maybe 10 minutes of story in the first episode (which is a little over an hour long, btw).
Idk how to feel about this tbhso he chose to be sexually involved with a 5 year old??? idk...great ost tho!
I think he didn't know that Yu Shi was 5 at the time? The flashback made the timeline confusing, but since he didn't seem to understand who Noah was or why Yu Shi would act so different at times until a bit in, I'm pretty sure the appointment with the doctor was after they had already been together for a while.
I feel like there were some places where the writing could've been better, as there are certain things that felt like they should've been explored more some things were included that didn't seem to actually add anything, but the concept and characters are so strong that I didn't really mind at all.
Like everyone else, I wish it had better subtitles, but it was pretty easy to follow (at least for me) in all but one or two scenes. It was annoying at first, but I got used to it,
Same! It wasn't until the music started playing that I realized that the problem was with how they recorded it or something. It sounds like they recorded the audio through a cheap, decade+ old laptop or something. Like, how can it sound so bad?
Sounds very similar to the Chinese web novel "Don't You Like Me," so I'm curious to see whether the similarity is just in the initial premise or whether that will extend into the overall story.
Is there any nude scene in this drama..?BTW sex happened between Main Leads right..?😶
No full out nudity, just down to underwear, and all the sex is between the main leads. And don't expect sexy sex scenes. They're more so depicted in a bizarre, abstract, comedic way.
I get why a lot of people don't like the sex scenes as they really are just absurd nonsense, but I love them. So many shows make sex scenes so explicit, so I find it far more entertaining to have something going in such an odd and generally unpredictable direction instead. This show is a comedy, after all.
Exactly, we practically got the whole plot of the next episode.
They end on such a big dramatic moment and you're wondering if Cake has actually realized his feelings yet or doesn't understand his jealousy. You aren't certain how long this conflict will go on, but then you catch the first millisecond of the preview and that's all ruined.
I'm so mad that at the end of the latest episode they had such a huge spoiler as the first thing in the preview for the next episode!! I always try not to look at those because they can spoil things, but sometimes I end up catching the first little bit on accident, but I've never had that result in a spoiler that big!
I really loved the novel, but I wonder how well it will translate to having to be a bromance instead of a romance. If they don't do it well, it could really lose a lot of the impact.
I've seen multiple people call Woo Young Woo "innocent," so I just want to do a little PSA: Do not call autistic people "innocent" (unless you are using it as the opposite of guilty).
Autistic people often face infantilization because people view some of our behaviors and our social deficits as childlike. Describing us using words that are generally associated with children, such as innocent, pure, or naive, can perpetuate those stereotypes. Even if you believe you'd still use that word if the person/character wasn't autistic, it is still likely best to avoid it because even with good intentions, you can have a negative impact.
It's also worth noting that there could be subconscious biases at play. So if you do find yourself thinking of Woo Young Woo or another autistic character/person as innocent, ask yourself why. Are the things leading you to say that actually just autistic traits? Did you view them with an assumption of innocence because of their autism? Check in with yourself to see whether the word is actually an accurate description, or if you are unintentionally infantilizing them.
Episode 3 made me 100% root for Sana and Ko ending up together ! Nagano Mei and Sugino Yosuke look really great…
Based on the plot description and order the cast is listed, I figured she's end up with Kotori, but then episode 3 happened. I mean, I was already rooting for Sana to end up with Ko, but now, if she doesn't, when she clearly had feelings for him that she pushed down, and they dedicated a whole episode to their backstory......... Sana needs to end up with Ko. They would have to work EXTREMELY hard for me to change my mind on that.
I liked the first movie in all its cliches and cheesiness. I enjoy a good garbage movie from time to time, but this one just sucked. I had no reason to care about Suzuki or Morita, but they expected me to cry over them? Aren't Takumi and Gii supposed to be the main characters? And Gii went from a hopeless romantic to a terrible boyfriend who didn't seem to consider Takumi's feelings at all and totally uses him. If the other movies are like this one, count me out.
I've seen a weird amount of people complain about the toxicity in this show given that it's literally about a mafia family. Did they think a group of people who will kill someone without even blinking were gonna be the models of healthy relationships?
Like everyone else, I wish it had better subtitles, but it was pretty easy to follow (at least for me) in all but one or two scenes. It was annoying at first, but I got used to it,
