This show is killing meeee. I stayed up until 4am watching thirst trap videos of Zhang Wan Yi and Ci Sha on Weixin 😅and then beating myself up for refusing my grandmother’s orders to marry a Chinese guy. Maybe it’s time to leave my boring white dude and go back to Asia 😂

They need us to see it in flashbacks to make the hateful LJX into a somewhat sympathetic character and create internal turmoil for Yining, because ✨drama ✨

If it weren’t for current LJX being so stalkerish and abusive towards Yining, I would be so all up for this storyline where Yining and blind LJX truly loved each other in the past, then doubt (about the attempted murder) kills that love on Yining’s part. Then when the whole sibling issue between Yining and LSY gets resolved and they eventually become lovers, the previous love story between Yining and LJX becomes a source of a genuine love triangle tension.

All this because I despise the idea that the only women worthy of love are virginal women without a romantic past.

I hated novel Liu Jiaxue, and so far I really dislike LJX in the drama… but Ci Sha (the actor playing LJX) is so dang fiiiiiine. I loved him as the 2ML in Forever and Ever. I hope he continues to get big roles and hopefully a lead role in the future.

Don’t even try to read the novel this drama is based on. Novel LSY and LJX both gave me the ick. Major red flags: rapey, pedo, incest, abuse. Even though I tried to read it with an open mind (like being aware of the historical context, for example, child brides were normal in ancient China) it was still such an uncomfortable read.

Sadly, this thing happens even in real life. “Filial piety” is deeply ingrained in many Asian cultures and still prevalent even now.

What in the feederism is going on in Episode 14 and 15 🫣😏

A scene in Episode 34 was hard to watch. Where are those trigger warnings when you need one???

It irks me so much that 2ML is getting all the pretty songs.

The actress playing the Eldest Princess is so effective AF. I hated her in The Bad Kids, I hate her even more now in The Double. Good job, I guess.

As a person who is in a similar career slump as Ha-Neul and also suffers from depression, I am so impressed at how they depicted mental illness in this show. This was my cathartic watch for the weeks it was on, and I am hoping that I will someday reach a similar point in my life where I can say “I can endure the normal ups and downs of life”. I loved this show so much.

PHS of course was adorable as always.

I’m 90% hate-watching this show from now on. 10% to see Huiju.

FL gets kidnapped waaaaaaaay too often.

This had some hilarious moments. ML and FL are both good-looking. ML looks like a mix of Johnny Huang and Park Hae Jin. FL looks like Suzy but more pixie. Super cute.

Basing on the scene in the preview for Episode 13 (where the CEO’s no-good brother is holding a knife to Sol Hee’s throat) I want to believe that maybe CEO’s brother might be the murderer, or at least involved in the murder. Buuuuuut, he might also be the one sitting with CEO in Do Ha’s alibi video, that’s why CEO brother was extorting money from Do Ha, saying things like “consider what we did for you, etc.” from many episodes ago. Argh. The murder mystery is certainly mysterious.

The ML acted his heart out during the crying scene in bed, I believed his heartbreak and desperation 100%. I had to check the actor's name after that scene because he did it so well. Good job, Xie Bin Bin!
