One of the many reasons why I could never be against NDS in this show was because NDS paid for his lie, even though the lie was brought to him by HJP and Grandma. And neither of them apologized to Dal Mi even ONCE! Specially grandma. That one thing is crucial when you show multiple characters lying to one character; how they handle the fallout, and NDS's apology (and the lack of apology on HJPs part specially) proved to me that NDS was right for her, because he was willing to do anything to keep her happy. If I remember correctly, the first thing HJP said when his lie was discovered was 'Grandma made me do it'. That's immature imo and put me off his character. Loved the show so much otherwise, highly recommended.
LOVED the show, brilliant acting, ost, story (couldve been better, but still), and character development on every one's part.
NDS was a supportive male lead, willing to extend every bit of his talent and hard work into fulfiling both his own and the FLs dream. He took responsibility for his actions without remorse, and rejected the idea of borrowing someone else's wealth to impress a girl after the first time. He wanted to become what she wanted him to be, and if that happened to be working as a developer under her as a CEO, then that because the best case scenario for him and he was able to make it come true! He devoted countless hours to help the grandmother of the FL despite knowing her for just a few days, and it wasn't a desire to pay anyone back that drove him, he did it simply because he wanted to do something good with his mind for her. Which was a risky move, but ended up working in the end. And took care of his best friends who supported him because they saw potential in him. He was loving towards his parents, and understood their sacrifice for him and held a desire to repay their kindness.
HJP was brilliant at conveying how, despite being shown a wonderful kindness in childhood, you don't magically change into a trusting and warm person like a switch. He was mistrusting of others from the start when he suggested that grandmas money wasn't safe because someone could steal it, and then when he drew the conclusion that she had given his money to her son without telling him. Even after he ran away with the money and found immense success years later, he held a desire to repay her, holding on to his materialistic tendencies a bit, but it wasn't until the very end when he understood that kindness can be repaid only with kindness, nothing else. His affection towards the female lead seemed a bit too forced to me, like a competition with NDS, and nothing else. He never seemed to realise DMs full potential, and even offered to invest in her company as a last resort, which I found insulting. His character in the end was happy with grandma though, and it was fitting that right as he realised the importance of kindness, he got a chance to help someone in need with his own wealth and he jumped at the chance.
In Jae, she had potential as a character, and it was left a bit incomplete, but her chemistry was great with everyone in the show. She was dead-set on carving her own path, and she did it in a classy way, although she was overshadowed by the FL at the end a bit, which could've been avoided. I lover the voice of this actress so much, and she did terrific acting.
Now Dal Mi, our fearless, smart FL. Loved her character, loves Suzy's acting. She was broken when she discovered the lie because she has started caring for NDS aside from the childhood letters, but believed in herself and carried on working hard to achieve her dream, even after her team pretty much dissipated in the middle of the show because of a mistake. Loved her.
