*****Q. To the people who have watched the full show can you pls help me gain some clarity to my complaints and indicate whether I would be getting something more than a generic straightforward plot so that I bear through and continue watching :) *****
I'm on ep 12 and while the chase was fun and interesting first 10 episodes, but, it is now getting draggy.
1. The female lead is strong, opinionated , ambitious, courageous and intelligent which is what actually attracted me to this drama but there isn't much about her being happy without a relationship or anything about her finding flaws in each potential boyfriend which makes her a "Professional single" except in the first episode. Sadly I have been seeing her trying to second guess the ML's sweet actions towards her and trying to emote her feelings as well for the past 7 episodes. This is now getting really boring and doesn't follow the plot at all, I was expecting it to talk more about how they are professionally single- for now it just seems like they are classified as those because of their shit communication.
2. The ML is not a completely emotionless asshole as portrayed in most dramas, he has been relatively open about emoting his feelings for the FL in subtle hints to the viewers but at this point it has become irritating where both leads are clearly into each other.. even the other characters know it but we still have 30 episodes to go.
3. Unfortunately since the FL and the ML are already likeable, there seems to be a marginal scope for character development meaning that the plot drags out the chase a couple more episodes, still waiting for confession, relationship, misunderstanding and climax of the story but if things keep going on like the are right now.. I'd just have to drop the show.
This show would have probably been a 10/10 Romcom if it was condensed into 16 episodes since I've had enough of the "chase" at ep 12 and would like to see the story move forward.

HOLY SHIT I LOVE THE TRAILER... NGL I'm curious to see this 2020 take at a classic. I was not a fan of the original Korean one due to the toxic masculinity but this looks refreshing. Can't wait for that remake!

OMGGG IKRR! I think I'll give the "hug" scene a typical *connection* BOD buttt Tang li and the bosss .... I swear they were in a different kind of "relationship" WTF was that about?! BUTTT I was super glad to see that she didn't marry the asshole. The restaurant scene was just so weird tbh the ending itself didn't make much sense either.

Could anyone help me by explaining whether Bai Lu is good or bad? cause she's meeting up with the dodgy doctor who I thought was Tiang Jing's therapist but was seen drain some lady's blood.
However, he hacked into the assistant's laptop to not disclose the "secret".
And what's the thing with the tracker on TJ's van, who placed it? and why? and why does Bai lu wear the same clothes as her? and is she also a mutant.
what happened? I was browsing netflix and it seems decent... but this is a CNdrama (who are we kidding?)
I feel like the high ratings are for the first 12 episodes cause they were good and some of the later ones too, this drama would have been a 10 if they didn't stretch it and then suddenly wrap it up but maintained some consistency with the story telling.

Yahh I knowww proper disappointment but you're welcome sis wouldn't want anyone else to feel the utter stupidity I felt after investing 23hrs into a drama only for it to lead up to something so dry and rushed.

So like the ML compromises his everything for the FL and wants to migrate to Japan with her (it has been her dream to study in Japan) but the FL realises that the ML is compromising tons of things so she breaks off her engagement with him cause it's burdensome or smth...

and then they both go to the airport to still live in Japan where she abandons him? (cause she can't ask him to give up his dream for her dream but NEVER TELLS HIM THAT)
CUT TO a bunch of months later I think, she's working in a restaurant and someone asks her whether she's single, she politely refuses and he enters the restaurant and they hug.
THE END .
Heres the thing right .. we didn't even know that the ML even had any ambitions until a couple minutes of the last episode, they left off with soo many misunderstandings and suddenly he finds her and they hug like nothing happened... like they had a big build up to the end scene where we'd expect something nice and cute to leave with a smile and tie up lose ends (IDK explain what happened to the supporting cast) but they left everything to our imagination.
