the acting and script were... rough. but there was something about this drama that totally pulled me in! i enjoyed the plot (despite the plot holes) and chemistry (despite the awkward acting) and the cinematography was really stunning at times. i don't even understand why i loved this so much lol but i had a great time watching this!
i'm glad i watched my personal weatherman before starting this one, because it made me understand the dynamic between the leads better and that this is clearly a specific type of bl genre. this genre is not for me, and that's okay. still had a good time watching it; the cinematography is gorgeous (the cycling scene!), great pacing and takano akira/koyama kazuki is such a cutie.
had such a blast watching this! im usually not drawn to high school dramas/bls but this was SO good! great pacing, very lovable characters and strong acting (fujimoto kodai/hioki is great when it comes to comedic acting). sugary sweet and lighthearted, this jbl totally stole my heart!!!
this was... something. i'm honestly not sure what the problem was: the script, the acting, the pacing? i felt like the plot had potential but it ended up going nowhere. none of the characters or pairings were likable enough to make me root for them (... maybe except for doyun. BIG maybe). the acting was okay, i did really enjoy kim jungha's performance as juha.
and despite all of this, there was still something about this bl that made me finish it lol. maybe hangyeoms face card truly did save this show for me!

ah you’ll love the rewatch! about the clocks, here’s an explanation because i explained it poorly in my previous comment: you’ll notice that in that scene, the time in juyeongs shot (9 am iirc) differs from the time in dohoe’s shot (8:10 am). the incident with dohoe’s dad happened around 8:10 am, so it portrays that dohoe is still “stuck” in the past. blew my mind when i realized it!!!
bumping up my rating from 9.5 to 10 after a rewatch. i appreciate the acting SO much more after this rewatch, esp after knowing all the twists and turns. love it!!!
you can tell they had 500 won and a dream but this was so FUN! the chemistry was great, i'm so glad they re-edited this to a horizontal version so more people (me!) can watch it.
i'll start off by saying that i did not watch the original c-drama, so i had no expectations going into this. but this was suchhh an amazing watch! cried multiple times, loved all the characters and i was rooting for every single one of them. i also really enjoyed the kids scenes (maybe even more than the more grown up versions at first lol), so cute and great acting.
great casting for the 3 main characters: i love that juwon, sanha and haejun visually don't match together at all, because it fits the 'found family/family by choice' concept sooo well.
also: choi wonyoung (dad of the year! yoon jeongjae!) is great at playing dad-roles. he was amazing with both the kid and grown up versions of the characters, he killed it!! esp his emotional scenes with kang haejun... amazing.
solid 10/10 drama for me. watch it if you're into something a bit slower paced and more slice of life. vibe wise, it reminded me of 'age of youth' (slice of life) and 'twinkling watermelon' (family focused). highly recommend it!!
i really enjoyed this! went into this drama with 0 expectations but the complexity of some characters and the acting really surprised me. very friendship centered which i love! the friendship between joon and soohyun was the highlight of the show for me.
this altered my brain chemistry in a way i cannot explain. i have watched this many times and it seems to get…
some of my fav scenes as a chronic rewatcher: 1) the intimate scene (with cuts back to their first time… the contrast!!! heartbreaking!!!)
2) when dohoe and juyeong reunite in dohoe's childhood home, pay attention to the clock in the back. the time in dohoe’s shot is different from the time in juyeong’s shot: it’s all connected to the time of the incident with dohoe’s dad.
3) the no-cut scene of dohoe and juyeong in dohoe’s apartment omg… insane chemistry!
this altered my brain chemistry in a way i cannot explain. i have watched this many times and it seems to get better every rewatch (so many small details to pick up on!!!). it’s such a beautiful display of how trauma manifests in people differently. all characters are flawed, complex and really well written. plus beautiful cinematography, love the way they play with cold/warm lighting to set the mood between dohoe and juyeong. director hwang daseul, you’ve truly done it again!
the editors know exactly where to insert the secret relationships intro at the start of the episode... had me yelling at my screen every time it popped up! one of the best kbls i've watched, will def be rewatching!
