I love dark, weird dramas and this was right up my alley. Fast-paced, entertaining, and absoltely crazy! If you're looking for a sweet bubblegum drama this is not the one. Lots of angst and sexy scenes too! What I love about Taiwanese dramas is I never have to worry about being dissapointed by medicore kiss scenes. I enjoyed it!
If you're skipping to all of Rose and the detective's scenes like I was don't waste your time. Not even one kiss. Boooo! Season 1 was strong but the rest was very, well, skippable. You can easily skip from the last episode of season 1 to the last episode of season 3 and have missed almost nothing.
Hmmm close but not quite. The female lead was extremely unlikeable. I love a good antihero but the constant smug smirk on her face bordered on unbearable. The story had the bones but wasn't fleshed out. I'm not mad I watched it but don't ever need to see it again.
It took me a while to get into this but I'm glad I stuck it out. If anyone is struggling to get through the first episode like I did, stick it out. It was a great story and suprisingly emotional. I love flawed, fleshed out characters, and this drama had that in spades. Great storytelling, intimacy, and family dynamics!
Less R-rated content that makes me squirm in my seat and more family-friendly entertainment please and thanks
Of course it is. That's why in the literature world there are multi-billion dollar genres categorized as "romance" and "clean romance". One genre contains sex and one does not, but they are both romances. If you like "clean romance", congrats, the vast majority of romances in the Kdrama world are clean. So skip this one. It's really not that hard. The same way I skip Kdramas that I know are not going to have real kiss scenes, but childish pecks. Those of us who like "romance" with sexual intimacy would like something to watch too.
Less R-rated content that makes me squirm in my seat and more family-friendly entertainment please and thanks
You can skip the R-rated content, the vast majority of kdramas are family-friendly. It’s not that hard to read the ratings, move on, and let the adults who like more steamy romance and intimacy enjoy it.
The son needed the shit slapped out of him, I don't care. Hated him until the very last second. Otherwise it was one of the best dramas I've ever seen.
This film should have a much higher rating. It's excellent. The tension, the buildup, the character development are all 10/10. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The drama writers today could never create something even half as good as this.
You're gonna have to turn your brain off to enjoy this one but it's actually so entertaining once you let go of the need for it to be perfect. The characters and plot are engaging. I highly suggest watching on Viki with the comments turned on, you will laugh your a** off.
Both ml and fl are super popular in Japan and do quite alot work there, modelling and "fan meeting concerts" for…
Cancel culture is not going to work on things that actually happened in history. Artists are not required to erase the past and pretend it never happened just because you are offended. Further, almost all good storytelling is making a political statement of some kind, some more subtle than others, everything is not a braindead romcom.
People watch dramas to escape reality. If people wanted to see normal visuals and faces they will go to the nearest…
This is not true at all. If a drama has beautiful people who are bad actors or the script is not well written, it doesn't matter how beautiful they are, I'm dropping it immediately. If all the characters are "normal" or "ugly" but the acting and writing is phenomenal, it's likely going to be one of my favorites that I think back on even years later. This kind of shallow mindset is why newer dramas these days are so much worse than the the older ones where the actors actually had talent and weren't only hired because of their "visuals". Visuals are nice but they are not enough to carry a show.
I liked it. The ML really carried this show on his back and had the strongest performance. He was absolutely hilarious and I would not have finished if it weren't for him. I will definitely be checking out more of his work!
Yes, Chetelli, I grew to hate him, too. But then I tell myself, Bae Soo Bin accomplished his goal, as an actor!…
Yes hats off to the actor because he really had me over here SEETHING. I think the fact that his character started off as a seemingly good man is what made it so disturbing to watch his transformation. They cast him as the villain and he understood the assignment lmao. He did a great job.
Wow. Just watch it. I don't think I've ever hated a character more than I hated the prosecutor. Any drama that can piss me off this much deserves a 10 lol.
Finished and it was fantastic. I love kdramas where the leads are not perfect and the villains are not truly villains. Everybody is gray and their motivations are always realistic and believable. I get so bored with the cartoon villains in kdramas these days I just fast forward through them. I did not fast forward through this kdrama once because the characters are that well written, one of the best written kdramas I've ever seen. It was also funny as hell because these people are MESSY. I will say this is an older drama, pre-Me Too, so there's a couple of scenes in here that would not pass the smell test in today's modern society. Outside of that, it was a great watch.
Whew, now that I've gotten that out of my system, this show was absolutely hilarious.
