Adore this so much <3 Wish it was full sized. Considering how many lesbian stories set in the entertainment industry there are, I'm really happy it's coming in drama format as well now!
We are sick of straightifying the very little gl media that actually exists and the content it's based on is gl so it very much does matter. If they wanted to make a straight show they could just do that.
I can't stand how in straight shows the romance almost always come to fruition but what we can expect from lesbian shows is "they acknowledge they're not straight" or "they talk about it and never see eachother again".
There is an r*pe scene between the two main characters, be warned if this makes you as uncomfortable as it did me. If someone is so drunk they can't even talk, and you are stone cold sober? Just no. big NO. Taking a break after that.
Whom do you mean? FL?But she did change - she stopped taking bs from ML (that pillow fight was the last straw)…
I may not have finished it but this is what I saw and my opinion (watched until episode 9). The female lead still acted like a hunted rabbit and took so much crap from ml while the side characters were all saying how much she changed. Maybe she changes more in another 4 or 5 episodes and does what you say, but I'm not putting up with it for that long. Just cause you feel something different (watching a tv show is not an objective experience) doesn't mean you have to get rude.
EDIT/ some people are massively upset that I don't "understand" this show because i "only" watched and been dissapointed by 9 out of the episodes. please take this into consideration. SO anyway; Huge disappointment. Misleading title and description. Don't watch if you don't like pushover, weak female leads. Stories need to SHOW not TELL. You can't have all the characters going around saying "oooh that person really changed" and have them act exactly the same.
I am only at the first episode but my god this is so liberating! People DO always turn your "homemaker like" hobbies into something you're "supposed to" do for a man. They DO always insinuate that you should eat less because you're a woman. Screw that! Let women eat! Let us enjoy our hobbies for ourselves! Freedom!
Club Friday would like to have a word. I'm not a fan of sad GL endings either, but there's probably a reason we…
I think maybe creators feel it will be more accepted if it has a unhappy ending, because of homophobia, the idea that lesbians shouldn't "really" be together, they are only allowed crushes and should be punished if they actually pursue a female romance. Even some homosexual directors choose tragic endings for their creations for the sake of realism.
Yes, Carol is a good example of a good ending, there are a few ones, really appreciate them! We will persevere!
I am so proud of you! I have found myself in a place with a lot of time on my hands, and I've been considering doing this to my currently watching, even though I am... a serial dropper. Thank you for sharing your ways sensei!
