I was waiting for someone to say this. Yes, directly explaining sh#t to the viewers IS cheating. To the average person it just seems like a "quirky thing they do", but it's just them being lazy, smh.
Just baffled with the comments praising the drama as the best thriller. So I guess I have different taste from…
I mean there is no way everyone is going to like how they implemented the story and that's understandable. It's also not an easy watch like a romcom where you can just turn your brain off while watching... this is a drama where you actively have to use your brain to figure things out. I heard some people say they had to watch Awaken more than once to understand everything. I myself had to watch it twice to catch every detail. Watching it for the second time was a whole different experience. But here are some facts: The acting was perfect. 10/10. The comedy was also great and refreshing. Those are the 2 things everyone can agree on. It's just really heavy and maybe a bit too deep so not everyone can wrap their brains around it and that's fine. To be honest that's one of the main reasons I like it.
Here's the thing about Awaken: You need to watch it twice. At least. When I was watching it for the second time I noticed so many things I missed before. Also had some "AH! That's why he did that!" moments. I knew the full story so it was easier to notice and understand things in the first episodes. It's also funny as hell when you know why he acts the way he does.
No dramas above an 8.5 rating should be allowed to be in this list.
