Thank you thank you! This story and dramas are my all time favorite!!! Beautiful analysis of all 3! I have been tossed between the 1999 version and the 2008 version as my favorites and you brought out the best in both. The 2016 version seemed to be watered down in its intensity and passion. Oh how I wish there was a better video quality of the 1999 version. I wish more dramas would come out of this kind of romance and passion. I have watched the first two many times and the story has stuck with me through the ages!!! I wouldn't even mind another remake correcting the dry and childish way they portrayed it. Can I ask where you watched the 1999 version?
haha! So much truth in your assessment!!! However, for us starved, love-lorn romanticists, these little nuggets are worth reviewing positively in hopes of brandishing more scintillating moments woven into those captivating, in-depth historical dramas! Maybe they will glean what fangirls are looking for and be bold and go where no screen writer has gone before!! Good article!!!

i think the point is you can see more feminine fl and manly heros, just without the objectification.that's the…
I apologize for sounding so trite. Your article was written in a very diplomatic way. I think what upset me are the wolves it invited to circle the wagons and use it as a forum to make their political statements. I escaped from American entertainment that usurped the simple form of entertaining and banished all that was good and wholesome and found the refreshing Asian dramas. I don't want to see MDL become a forum for political statements to change the culture of things, but an enjoyment and critique of Asian shows that surpass America in the quality of their stories and depth of characters. It's just too sad that everything has to be politicized. No, I don't think this article was needed in this forum. It should have been written in the comments section of a show or in a review.
Give me a break. How far are you going to go with that one? They are shows! You can call it exploitation or you can call it supply and demand. Quit watching!! Trying to change the culture of every country in chopping the manly balls off of every shirtless guy and eliminating every feminine quality in a woman by this constant competing with men is hardcore feminism in it's glory. No matter how you couch it, women will openly or secretly swoon over those shirtless heroes. More power to them. Sorry if I sound negative, but I, personally, would love to see more feminine charm and manly heroes, with or without shirts. There, my two cents. Be proud of your guilty pleasures!! It's fun!!
Hahahah aww thank you!I'm glad you enjoyed reading this article and are having fun watching the lakorn. I myself…
haha! Me too! I loooove the angst they provide!!! You summed up the ridiculousness of lakorns so well with your satire and it makes me want to keep crawling back too!!! Thank you! Thai's do it best!
You are soooo funny!!! I could not have expressed this better myself!! Ah yes, the addictive lakorn! I love it when the ones who watch these slap kiss lakorns incessantly bitch about them but continue to watch them knowing what they are in for!!! What you said here, "Pantawan's real mum messed around with her friend's husband and then had a kid with him — then dropped the kid off at that same friend's place. But you can see that essentially she isn't a bad person at heart." Too funny!! She isn't such a bad person now, is she?? I am loving this screwed up, rough and tumble slap kiss just like the rest of them!! Almost as good as Jam Loey Rak!!! Thanks for the article! You are a great writer!!!
