I agree n i think this is the highest rating i have seen on any jdrama even though the raters r only few but still.
IKR J dramas are so so underrated here as most ppl just think that they are either about cheating and sex or have overacting, which is totally not the case.
This drama literally had brilliant acting from the ML, and the worst acting I've seen from any FL. I re-watched it, and damn he carried the drama on his own. I wish he at least had a decent actress who would be able to convey some basic emotions, and that would have made this drama a masterpiece.
Seeing so many comments for a J drama that has only aired 1 episode *happy tears* I hope more people give J dramas a chance because they're so diverse & good.
Why it's a big-deal:-The story was announced to be based-off of Utada Hikaru's First Love & Hatsukoi. The singer…
Further to what you said, Mitsushima Hikari is easily one of the best actresses from Japan, and a lot of the actors in the supporting are brilliant, straight A1 actors.
This drama truly found me at the right time, because there were many points at which it made me feel vulnerable like they were watching me, and bringing my struggle to life in third person. I don't tear up easily but I teared up so many times when watching this drama. In fact, some of the happier moments made me tear up even more (which is very rare). It was such an enriching and uplifting experience about growing up and facing life.
The screenwriting style was very unique and clever with the way sketches framed the various themes each episode. The entire cast had great chemistry and played off each other really well. The acting and writing was freaking A1. I binged it at one go because I was so immersed, and snapped out of it only when it ended. I totally forgot that they were acting.
This drama is absolutely flawless, and I highly recommend it. As always, no one does slice of life better than Japan.
OMG THE CAST!! Kazama Shunsuke from Soredemo Ikite Yuku! Kaho! Kawaguchi Haruna! Suzuki Ouji from Horimiya! Itagaki Rihito from Colourful Love! I love them all eeeeeks *adds to watchlist*

For the longest time I've always wondered whether emotional infidelity was any different from physical infidelity and I think this film answered that question. It is, and the difference is really subtle. It is the difference between action and thought, and sometimes, we fail to appreciate this (not until life places us in such a dilemma).
I really appreciated the way it focused on the emotional aspects of why one would be tempted, and never tried to justify the way the leads were feeling (even though it was valid) and did not present love as a blind thing that makes you lose consciousness though the temptation was clearly there. They had a choice to make, and they made the choice not to be involved in a way that would go against their morals. Yes, they were in love, but they recognized it as a 'fever' that was temporary & would bring little happiness so they chose to walk away before they reached a point of no return. They acted not out of temptation, but out of love for one another while being rational. He chose to value her commitment to her husband, and she chose to value both the doctor and husband by freeing the doctor from his dilemma and freeing her husband from his insecurity and doubt.
Afterall, who doesn't get a fever once in a while?
This is why I love old romance movies. The way yearning or tension is built up and expressed with just a little touch, a little glance or a simple 'I love you' can't compare to sex scenes or even exposing skin (though not taking away from the latter when it is done well).
The first 40 mins or so, this appeared to be quite the typical affair movie with the way an unsatisfied wife falls for a hot and charming doctor, but this turned out slightly different from what I was expecting. (more in spoiler below). It kept me captivated with the 'will they or will they not' and when it finally ended, I was really satisfied as it explored a different facet of infidelity - emotional infidelity.
All in all, I really liked it! Mifune Toshiro never disappoints. This was a rare affair movie, that was not completely an affair movie; unconventional yet simple.
I loved Kill Me Heal Me, Chicago Typewriter and Moon Embracing the Sun.
I can't wait for the next work of this writer!
