I wish this was done by a Japanese screenwriter. They just know how to work on these kind of stories, humanise characters & allow you to see different perspectives. Just my opinion. I love J dramas.
People told me to give it a second chance, that it's getting better and i said why not ? A lot of dramas have…
Yes! That last scene was far from romantic. It's not like I've never enjoyed MLs staring at FLs in other dramas, I have. But there is something about the way this drama has been set up, the way it has been written, the way the ML acts, that makes his staring very uncomfortable. His actions, too, are very questionable even though he may have pure & innocent motives.
4 episodes in and this drama is clearly not for me. Dropped.
The biggest criticism I have is that the writers made the mistake of delving straight into the plot rather than setting up the story. That made it harder for me to stomach the characters' actions, esp the manipulative ML and coward SML. Pity because I like the FL's character.
I just saw this interview of the leads. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnYRM1fTmw4 I DIED when he said one could drown in her brown eyes. LIKE HOW CAN YOU JUST SAY THINGS LIKE THAT & NOT WANT TO SHIP YOU GUYS TOGETHER?! They match so well seriously.
4 episodes in... it's a decent watch but I don't feel invested in the characters even though the acting is good. I prefer Haru's other rom-coms like Remolove & Sekai Ichi Muzakashi Koi. They are better written, and more engaging.
Anyone recommend something similar to this drama? Romance and suspense that keeps you guessing each episode?
Other than the ones mentioned - Kenja No Ai, Takane No Hana, Hapimari, Neechan No Koibito (this one is more slice of life but there is some suspense, and good romance), One Million Stars Falling From the Sky, Remolove (suspense in a romcom way, with heartwarming romance), Byakuyako (pretty dark & not romantic in your usual way), Bungaku Shojo, Cheese in the Trap
I love J dramas too. Thanks to J dramas, I started watching all kinds of genres beyond just romance & revenge. They really know how to create dramas of different varieties - telling stories of different kinds of people in different kinds of situations. I'm so blown by the creativity honestly. The writing and acting is top notch as well. I just finished Zeni Geba. It's a damn good revenge/psychological story. Have you seen it?
