Okay so, I see some positive comments wondering why we find the ML Lead creepy, well let me explain//spoilersFirst…
I wrote pretty much the same reasons a few comments down below. I'm glad I am not the only one who thinks this way. His behaviour came across as outright manipulative and creepy to me.

The writing is PERFECT but let us take a moment to appreciate the casting. Like I cannot imagine any of the characters being played by other actors. Not just individually, but even together as a team - all the actors have so much chemistry together, and you can see how they different they are, yet they fit into the world created by the drama so perfectly, like puzzle pieces completing each other.
The dynamics between all the characters is so damn wholesome. The chemistry is OWERFLOWING like seriously. This show needs a Season 2. I want to watch more of them. ALL OF THEM!

#2 - He did select the worst timing, because he found out from his sister the day the cheater would come with his fiance to the shop & chose that to be the reveal day and time. He could have told her the truth before entering the shop, and let her make that choice to come in or not but he brought her in, and made her see it. Not only that he called her out for her a fool while she was watching the cheater, and interfered beyond his right. Who is he to dictate how she should react and how she should handle her relationship?
#3 - He did manipulate her choice in the way he chose the reveal, stopped her from confronting the ex, then telling her to date him instead. His timing of telling her that he likes her just before the reveal was also problematic. I saw it as manipulating her weak and heartbroken state.
#4 - If his intentions were really that pure, he could have let the cheater know he knew and just thrashed him like a lot of people do (don't tell me its not his right to interfere, because he clearly interfered when he called the FL a fool, and stopped her from confronting the ex). He was using cryptic comments, and then asked the FL to date him because he wanted to show the cheater that the FL is now his, and he should step aside. He was jealous when he found out.
See.. the ML may not be a bad person in that he consciously thought of all this I am saying BUT the way the entire thing was executed made it come across that way. It is either poor execution or poor writing. Sorry.

- the way he rubbed the lipstick off her lips (it wasn't just touching her without consent, but it came across as very crass)
- the way he set it up for her to find out, like a villain plotting to get the worst timing ever for the FL to find out, so that he can get her (he could have just told her, rather than showing it to her that way or at least given her that choice of whether she wanted to see it or not)
- suggesting to her that let's date, rather than confronting her ex (to me, it came across like he was jumping at the opportunity have her)
- the constant staring at the other guy & making cryptic comments, instead of just telling him directly to mend his ways, followed by his suggestion to the FL that let's date (it's also like he wanted to one up the other guy she was dating)
I wish the show spent at least an episode introducing us to the characters, and setting up the story rather than delving straight into the set up. This was especially important because the ML's thoughts and actions come across as problematic, and without that proper set up / intro, I find him outright creepy and disturbing (what he did end of E1, and how he set up the reveal in E2)
Another thing I have to point out is that the direction / editing is very very messy and problematic. The promos set it up to be very slice of life with its posters & trailers but the actual product came across as makjang-ish, like I was watching some drama from the early 2000s. Some scenes were pretty but the 2 episodes came across as somewhat shallow.
Lack of chemistry between the characters is another thing that really made it hard for me to get invested.But I'll see how this goes the next 2 episodes, and decide if this is for me or not.
*sigh* Maybe it's just blah in comparison with Run On that has good writing, good pacing, and not a single skippable…
Run On took me out of my kdrama hiatus LOL. It is way too good, and has set a standard of its own. I feel that any other drama you compare to Run On will pale in comparison, so not a fair comparison.
