That's a clickbait headline that is blowing his statement out of proportion. Perhaps, you should exercise more care when choosing the headline. I don't think his statement was meant to sound arrogant or "critique", it sounded a lot more like an observation or afterthought.
A simple, and pleasant story about a passionate journalist, and her found family consisting of her deceased husband's teenage son who moves in with her, and her deceased husband's lawyer who frequents their house for meals. Suzuki Honami and Takizawa Hideaki made an adorable duo that were more like bickering friends, rather than step-mother / step-son. I enjoyed it, but wish we got a little more of our main trio's backstories.
How's the rom aspect? Only fake kisses?? Or actual ones?, did you watch the sequel?
Season 1 then movie, then Season 2. That's the order. So the 2nd season is linked to the movie.
Like I said, if that's what you are looking for in a romance drama, then this show isn't probably for you because there are barely more than 2 or 3 kisses (that too in the last episode).

I mean it depends on what your definition of romance is. Some people really need a lot of physical scenes etc. This one doesn't have that. There is tons of eye locks, catch-fall, conversations and slow burn. To me, that was romantic enough because I like romances that are well-written and establish that connection between the leads well.

The romance is lovely.. it's a slow burn though. They have a few kisses in the last episode. Nope I haven't seen the sequel yet. Plan to watch it soon!

I didn't enjoy Love Like the Falling Petals much.
Kurosawa is a genius.
Do check out some of these recent dramas that were really beautiful and had the classic feels -
Silent
Karakai Jozu no Takagi-San
Kimi Ga Kokoro Wo Kuretekara
Unmet
Nanyobi Ni Umareta No
Prism
Brush Up Life
May they have a happy life together :)
GOT TO WATCH THIS.
