so youthful so sweet so beautiful
i neverrr give 10/10s but this drama truly is the one. it was so perfectly cute, funny, romantic, charming… i especially loved how both leads were so sure of their feelings for one another that they never let anyone come in between them. there were tons of moments where misunderstandings could have arisen (ahem 8 out of 10 kdramas out there will have some misunderstanding trope) but rangrang and zaizai always stood their ground and never questioned the other. you rarely see this in dramas because it would take out the conflict and therefore the conflict resolution but WIFTY shows that you don’t need conflict for a couple to show just how right they are for each other.
all the main characters are so well-written, so real, so sweet and so funny. the blend of romance, slice of life, comedy and drama are beautifully woven together; this is the coming of age you wish you had. while i agree with some of the other reviews that the ending was rushed, i personally didn’t mind because their getting-together was basically the whole series. it was heartwarming to witness their banter and little shy moments but by the end of the show, they are adults and they can’t show the same dynamics as when they were kids. i don’t have any complaints (even though i felt like some scenes felt kind of choppy/could have used an explanation/more context) that would be enough to minus a star so it is still a 10 for me!
this drama makes you wish you were bad at math so that you get tutored by the cute boy the next class over. this drama makes you wish you had a sunshine of a girl trying to make you smile at every turn. this drama makes you wish you had a friend group so tight that they all will wait at the hospital with you while your grandma undergoes surgery.
su zaizai asks zhang lurang if he would change the past if he could go back in time. he says no. i wouldve said i wish i couldve watched this sooner!!! absolutely diamond of a show, wish i could watch it for the first time again
