The complete name of the intelligence agency in 1987 was Agency for National Security Planning, which can be abbreviated as ANSP or NSP. I am not sure about NSI but I think the direct translation of Korean name in English will be abbreviated as NSI.
But all these abbreviation are used to talk about the same intelligence agency that worked for the authoritarian government in 1987.
I watch kdramas to entertain myself but this comment section has become more about politics, and when politics enter a place it becomes a headache.
Half of the people don't even know the complete controversy and has not even watched the episode to confirm that it is true or not. But all have an opinion which is based on others opinion.
I will check about this drama after month, but what is the possibility that it will continue airing till that time?
I am just hoping the SKY Castle duo will not stab at my back for trusting them for this drama. Because if they are distorting the drama.... then I can't and won't support them.
a good starting point is this person's threads:https://twitter.com/gatamchun/status/1471205914174967808https://twitter.com/gatamchun/status/1472435661978632192
Which part in the drama has glorified the NSA as of yet? Genuine question, because I didn't find any.

Well tbh I haven't myself found a reason why there is opposition as of ep1. Only thing which I found wrong in ep1 is that they used one of the song used by pro-democratic protestors (while agent catching the ML). I don't think anything is distorted as of yet, from what I know. But my opinion doesn't matter even a bit here because supporting or opposing the drama is all in the hands of Koreans. I also think Koreans themselves know their history more than anyone.

Their concern is that it will shown in future episodes.
A second petition to the Blue House demanding the broadcast of the drama to be stopped has been written and has already been signed by more than 30,000 people.
If it is signed by 200,000 people, it will again go to the Blue House office.
I will only say that any non-Korean should not say anything over this. The creators are Koreans, the viewers are Koreans, the controversy is between them. Let just wait and watch what happens next.
But people sharing comments from social media without confirming themselves is what leads to the rise in the controversy. Please everyone be responsible while sharing anything. Thank you.
Does anyone have the basics of why this is controversial? Like I'm completely ignorant with this so I'm curious.…
Please read the recent discussion, I have explained the entire controversy. Many people are sharing half or more than actual thing misleading people. Please be careful.
Please be careful while sharing any information about the controversy. Many thing you said are wrong which will mislead people. Always be responsible while sharing these things.

First of that person has died, very this year. You not knowing this shows how much wrong your coverage is.
"The show Snowdrop’s main plot is about a young student saving a protester who is actually a secret spy."
The ML is North Korean soy but not a protestor.
"This show will only justify his actions and words."
hi, i posted this in the feeds as well but decided to post it here as well because it might reach more people…
If drama is really distorting South Korean history then we should get the outcome within a week.
I am saying this because, Joseon Exorcist which was set in Joseon Era, a time from where no person is alive at present got shut down within a week, then this drama is just set 1987 whose eye witnesses are still alive.
But it could also end up like Empress Ki, though it faced backlash from South Koreans for distorting the history, it completed its full run with good ratings because of the massive support of South Korean audience.

Reaching a conclusion that it is about Hae In can be wrong.

Where did it justify? Where the hell.

Lets see which way it goes.
