I honestly think that he saw that she is showing her hidden side now to another person and those archives are…
LMAO "genius idea" for jiwoong, you are right, he still has another "weapon" to stop jiwoong from teasing him πππ afhsajfjasj there is still unreleased scene of his childhood moment when he took peaches to tease jiwoong too
there are a lot of rumor that they will get together in ep 12, imma trust it. btw im glad to find another user with food name. french toast and oreo what a sweet combination π
just finished last ep!! mismolly and brand new child are on another level, i love their performances the most. im happy w the winner though, congratulationss!! everyone worked so hard <3
I really don't like or hate NJ..But I feel her character is a filler here.. she's an unnecessary character
I thought the same, skipped her part and the story would still be fine without her. When her plot came, the show vibe literally changed a lot and it was kinda out of place. I even found korean article talking how unneeded her character is lol π€£
Maybe I shouldn't get disappointed this early bcs she just started showing up more last ep. But I am literally holding on my patience over 10 ep towards her bcs I actually expected more from the character tbh like pls befriend w Yeonsoo instead!π
"At times, she'd extremely distant. Other times, she'd pull me closer and make time stop." This might be me just overthink the metaphor of time here. Woong draw a clock tower in ep. 9, with a clear straight lines. The clock drawing shows time almost at 8 o'clock, which could be mean 20. He has spent 20 years with Jiwoong since he was a child. The friendship between them has never stopped even once shown in the epilogue. That must be the other reason why he reached the conclusion of being friend. He thought with that straight reason, Yeonsoo would keep him closer, share her trouble, like Jiwoong did to him.
But, who knows the writer would play his time by making him watch Yeonsoo's happy footage? What was Woong thinking? Did he remember the happy moments from their dating days? or did he realize he wasn't the only person Yeonsoo show her soft side anymore? or maybe he noticed Jiwoong's feelings? The wrong themed-hard-disk glance probably a clue, but idk, what do you think? π€·π»ββοΈ Let me cry for the remaining days.
Ep. 10 Trivia π₯ The zucchini dinner with Grandmother
The vegetable they ate in their bowl of stew is a korean zucchini or in korean "Aehobak" (μ νΈλ°). There is korean saying "μ νΈλ°μ λ§λ λ°κΈ°" (aehobak-e maldduk bakgi) means "Piling on zucchini". It is a metaphorical word for being very mean-spirited or wicked. We watch Yeonsoo's grandmother being angry and saying harsh words to Woong and just want to smack him for not visiting or contact them over than 5 years. But despite that, props to her for still inviting him inside to feed him π΅π».

π I actually find it fun reading people's perspective on NJ and Jiwoong. I don't specifically hate or like neither of them. Their narratives are the same, they can't stop the feelings they have, but they can choose what to do with it. NJ is just going straight w her feeling despite the "clear" rejection bcs she trust herself as confident top idol who hardly get ignored. While Jiwoong used to distance himself and never tried to cross the line as he is the closest friend Woong has.
I understand the bad vibe people had for both of them. NJ was such a refreshing character like the beginning of spring. I actually expected NJ's plot to be "first" friend for the leads but she didn't respect Woong's personal space in ep 10 so she started to bug me. She was hiding behind "it is not like I ask you to date me" while she had that intention all along. But I hoped she realized her real goal wasn't to find a crush, she could easily date other yk. She needs a friend figure in life like Jiwoong to Woong, so she could tell someone her real problem. Preview usually mislead the episode and I still hope for her arc into that friend direction. Maybe go out with Yeonsoo and have a drink? π€·π»ββοΈ
Jiwoong on other hand had a complex emotion like a fall season, he knew both leads deep feeling for each other. He kept hinting Woong to tell his feeling, but Woong avoided it. Jiwoong was always the one who told his problem, but Woong never told his. Deep inside, he wanted to support Woong but also tried befriend with Yeonsoo as he never did before. Some people here seem to miss what Jiwoong had done for both leads. He was the one who reunite them, stayed with Woong after Nu-a arc, told Woong to apologize and asked him to go to Izakaya so he could have proper conversation, probably the one who told Woong that Yeonsoo lived in her old home, brought them to a trip (so they could kiss lmao), etc. Yes, he was questionable sometimes, but that was the purpose of his character, a person who sided with both main characters.
Personal rant : even with debatable action that both NJ and Jiwoong did, I am actually more annoyed with Woong LOL uri chingu halkka?? oh let me smack ur head once
Jujube & Tree Trivia π²π° Let's start oreo times! ππ»ββοΈ
Last week, I shared korean phrase about Autumn Mackerel, daughter-mother in law story and how they are connected with Yeonsoo and Woong's mother relationship. Next week, I am sure we will get Woong, the (grand)son in law arc. Remember when Yeonsoo brought Jujube tea to comfort Woong's lack of sleep? In next week preview, we watch Yeonsoo bringing a bag of Jujube again. Tonight, I will be sharing a korean folk story with Jujube Tree, titled "Three Lies" (κ±°μ§λ§ μΈ λ§λ) about an official who wanted and found a son-in-law who was a competent liar. I posted more details about the folk story on my feed as it is kinda long. https://kisskh.at/profile/o_reo123/feeds/dK6OvSB
The corelation here would be Woong & Yeonsoo's grandma narrative. Woong always answered the what if question Yeonsoo asked, but he didn't keep a thousand option he promised to always be there for Yeonsoo. The summer and winter event also explained Yeonsoo & Woong's overcome breakup. For Grandma, Woong was someone who made her daughter cry, but she still accepted his "lies" under the name of "friend" by inviting him for dinner. What about the next one? In the tale, the third lie was about money and I assumed it is about the debt reason behind the breakup. I did wonder if Yeonsoo wouldn't be able to tell it directly to Woong, so Grandma would come to the picture and explain it as she thought she somehow was in the fault.
Last about the jujube tree symbolism. Jujube trees are hundred times worse than a rose bush, it has a massive wicked thorns. The emotional barrier of Yeonsoo is like that of Jujube tree, Yeonsoo builds layers of walls and thorns to defend herself and to hide her soft side. How about the difference Yeonsoo & Woong look at the tree? In manhwa, Yeonsoo told why she lived harder than others. For her, it was her way to get option to choose from. A tree was a symbol of hope for her, she thought running hard was for all the branches and possible choice for her future. While Woong on the other hand, saw tree as peaceful place. He was already thankful for life, he never had the greed, and for that he just wanted to live to his heart's content in comfort under the shade of tree.
I have so much fun reading about the tale and analyze what the writer wanted to tell through this Jujube hint. That is it for tonight's trivia. Once again, I hope you don't get bored with my story time. Please look forward for my future cultural aspect talk in korean drama. π
rewatching ep 10, these hint in dialogue just got me cry ( β₯Οβ₯ ) when jiwoong told yeonsoo to take a cab, woong brought her out from the home first and told her to take a bus before late. it must be because he knows yeonsoo used to ride on bus bcs she hardly had money for taxi fare. he even still remember the bus number huft... anyway i hope he gets to eat the fried chicken w yeonsoo next time w zucchini as side dish ππ₯
the comment section in past weeks always stressed me out too, especially there was some user who came to leave…
Yeap as you should! Now i just find it funny that some people love to fault-finding the characters and stories they watched. I have never seen these type of nitpicking in korean forum and they have better understanding for the drama. I wish we all have those kind of fun ride together instead :')
there are a lot of rumor that they will get together in ep 12, imma trust it. btw im glad to find another user with food name. french toast and oreo what a sweet combination π
dw he won't push jiwoong to yeonsoo, i believe he wants to know jiwoong's intention and talk it out that he wants yeonsoo all for himself π
