The truth is that it is not a scam, the series had many contradictions, I liked the ending, everyone turned out…
aside the dumb miss korea and makjang murder plot, i am good with the "happy" ending all characters get. my complaint is how they represent and build up the story, which is full of nonsensical writing from my standard.
ThatΒ΄s such a great point. What happened to the bravery and strength of Yeong Rye who even orchestrated a labor…
the only good plot, fit with the setting, the bus theme, showing 80s labor condition, female hardship, it even showcase yeongrye desperation to pursue education with her asking the brother duos about law, plus also how jonghui start to see yeongrye in different light, that she is someone to look up, admire to, or jealous at as a person with dreams and ambitions.
it feels.... like entire different drama from the rest episodes lmao because it turned bad after timeskip. agree with what you said, it lost meaning of youth in 2nd half.
π At least if they show a mutual longing from both girls, I will understand writer's motive to paint yeongrye as "jonghui" only savior, only home to go back... but prior the 7 years skip, only jonghui shows desperation to reunite and look for the fellow dorm girls. even after they meet each other again, yeongrye feels hesitant to tell everyone or even hesitant to force jonghui into the circle again. that is one reason. then they are back to jaepil crap blah blah blah topped with ridiculous makjang. even their crash out raining scene with yeongrye asking "Jaepil? You broke up because of me?" instead of addressing the rest of trauma and desperation jonghui screamed about... what a joke. also shit plot, no consistency, first half yeongrye doesn't exist. the girl who is brave enough to lead a protest turn into coward hairdresser that just accept getting fired. not to mention all this miss korea craps just to insert "ambitions and dreams" at the last minute.
Anyone saying "this is always about friendship, not about man" OH IM NOT BUYING THIS. worst drama from my fave, kim dami. A Hundred Disappointments.
She gave him a rose on his birthday, reminding him of his roses. Only to know they are withered just like his…
last week, she is also the one who pick up his fallen flower, and keep it alive. imma cry. cant wait to see more flowers message throughout this drama. πππ»
I know Jong Hui later got her education through her mother or something like that with all the horse riding stuff.…
yeah i get we can imagine what happen during the 7 years ( especially jonghui's ). but i hate that, everything in the end becomes a bland forced situation, no compelling structured plots. no build up. we have to see the progress to understand, relate, or root for the characters and plots, but none urgh.
in ep 2 they mentioned they need diploma to enter miss korea, then they scrapped the whole late night school, like completely removed the whole plot, removed, forgotten. not showing how they stopped or did they finish it or not. then pushed this miss korea scholarship dream in the last second, no buildup whatsoever for everything, what a joke, a total mess ridiculous storyline.
this is why i prefer 16 ep format, no rushed and forced situation. bit by bit sparks, how they build up a relationship dynamic. showing the characters moments in cohesive timeline, displaying even the subtles body language between each characters.
plus oh my god another praise for prop team, such a detailed setting. im glad the director appreciate every little property and showcase it, it really builds up the story. like how they show some guy wearing vintage headphone in the background and next scene miseon wearing wired earbud hinting change of era. the newspaper that they read, and miseon reading economy yet taepoong reading fashion topic, the laminated identity card, the thick leather book, even to detailed content in each fax or contract paper. there is still many more to mention, maybe i will make a discussion thread just for this, oh and i absolutely love the styling! i can see the production team all work hard for this drama.
the glances and awkward silence between taepoong and miseon at that alley give me butterflies, and i know by this point his admiration will bloom to something more. when office drama offer us better romance than actual romance drama ππ»
i gotta praise both kim minha and lee junho, you know one is a good actor when they can deliver acting just through body languages. ive only been following kim minha, so i didnt know junho was this good!
im good with that, with all toxic stuff she has gone through, being with yeongsik is the only safe and healthy space for her. that is if writer doesn't throw another makjang murder plot with 2 criminals chasing her. oh wait let me add 3, stepmom is emotionally killing her slowly.
best man yeongsik, no exploding barking dog anger like jaepil or stupid visual mocking like junghyun. now with all trashy second half plots, he is the only reason im still watching, best brother, best friend, and best son with high emotional intelligence. at the end of the show may he win a lottery and move his whole family to rich neighborhood.
it feels.... like entire different drama from the rest episodes lmao because it turned bad after timeskip. agree with what you said, it lost meaning of youth in 2nd half.
