Is it just me, or is gao hanyu's acting super rigid in this show? I've watched other things he's in and his acting seems a lot more natural in other shows?

Can someone just summarize want happens in ep 16 for me? I can't believe I dragged myself through watching until ep15 of this show... I don't think I can get myself to watch the finale

Thanks for this review because describes my feelings exactly. I understand like you that romance was not the focus of it, but it was totally set up to be that way. Also, these people are in their 40s... I know this is a common habit with a lot of kdramas, but do they not know how to communicate their feelings?! I feel like Ik Sun and Jun wan's relationship frustrated me the most (loved these characters individually but their relationship really frustrated me).

uhh so... this drama is very addictive and im enjoying it so far but the adult female lead has ONE expression…
omg I agree with this so much - I think her expressionless face also caused her and KSH to have no chemistry (at least I couldn't feel it)

Tried watching this three times now and made it to ep 14 the third time but kept losing interest. Whilst the leads…
Honestly, ep 15 and 16 were really good and you will probably like it because it steers clear of the fangirl aspect. I would REALLY recommend pushing through and watching the last few episodes because you learn so much more about the characters and the relationship between the characters. It's slightly rushed but I think it added so much depth to the characters and gah its just so good in my opinion hahaha but I understand that this show may not be for everyone :)

Can you tell me if it picks up? Don't want to read over the post because I'm scared for spoilers - I'm on the 5th episode right now and have found it to be pretty dry...

Can someone tell me when is the storyline set? It doesn't seem like the story is happening in 2020s
I think it is happening in 2020 (they wear modern clothes, there’s iPads/portable tablets) although my guess is that it might be set in the countryside where they still follow more traditional values (I.e., arranged marriages etc.) I also wouldn’t be surprised if there are still places in Japan where people where kimonos everyday, especially if it fits their business theme, and that they didn’t update their technology

I was hooked on the show for the same reason, but my expectations were too high I guess. I was really looking forward to more about the cooking!
