As someone who's been learning 普通话 for the past 4 years, I can certainly agree with you that Chinese is one of, if not, THE most difficult language to learn. Now that I've gotten a little better at my understanding of it though when I listen to Chinese songs I can pick out what they're saying. When I read English translations or perhaps the artist also puts out an English version, I personally feel the English lacks the depth that the Chinese offers. It may be difficult and hard to understand at times, but I really feel it's a beautiful language.

I have a special place in my heart for this story. Yes, it's obnoxious, but there's something endearing about it to me. I've watched Japan's, Taiwan's and Korea's versions and enjoyed them all for different reasons. When I saw the news they would remake it in China, I was excited to see it. But as it started airing I heard mixed reviews. And then...I heard it was dubbed. AHHHHH!!! DUBBING, HOW DO I LOATHE THEE? LET ME COUNT THE WAYS! This why I can't watch a lot of Chinese dramas/movies. Some it's not so obvious, but others - it's the equivalent to nails on a chalkboard for me. I'm like with all the technology we have nowadays, Chinese editors STILL can't figure out how to make what's being said match along with the movement of the mouth? Really?! I just don't understand dubbing ESPECIALLY native Chinese speakers. I've ranted haven't I? Sorry... All that to say, I think there are too many negatives for this one. I think I'll just have to put this on the "I'll watch it if I'm forced to" list.
