There must’ve been a short window, during the time they dated but before she lied about her parents, that he had really deeply fallen for her. He must’ve felt like a fool falling so hard for her only to find her lying so audaciously to him and his parents. That’s my guess anyway. You would think he’d just walk away immediately, but he’s a weirdo himself to seize the opportunity to use her and marry her! That’s wild. He’s cunning and scary on a whole different level. Also, at the core of it, he’s totally into her even though she lied. That’s the reality he can’t face.

I agree with what you said except that he never had any feelings for Fang Lei. He was just playing her to get that deal with her dad. He can’t stand her and doesn’t want her anywhere near his son. Makes me think he knows how crazy and troublesome she is.

Haoming basically admitted that he’s into Xu Yan in every way. It’s odd that he turned mean when his lie was exposed. Why turn so mean? I guess that’s just who he is. Look how mean he was to Fang Lei (even though she deserved it) and also that old guy that he fired. I think also he just feels guilty about loving a woman who isn’t Haochen’s mother. With no lies giving him a reason to pretend to love Xu Yan, he can’t/won’t allow himself to love her directly. How does he not believe that she doesn’t really love him? How could he not feel her sincerity? Then again, it’s understandable that he can’t trust her. How can you trust someone who lied so big the way she did, hiring fake parents—that’s wild 😜!

She seems too young to me. But, man, if he really slept with her, then UGHH 😩. I don’t believe it though. I think Fang Lei is the aunt. Anything’s possible though.

I wouldn’t be surprised if crazy little sis had something to do with big sis’s diving accident given how obsessed she is with Haoming. Just speculation though. I have no idea how this will play out.

Zero passion in the kisses from him showing that he’s not in love with her. But, I think on some level he is intrigued with her. He said she was pretty. But, other things seem more important to him than true love and sincerity with a woman. He probably doesn’t even know the meaning of sincerity. She, on the other hand, seems to be sincere about wanting to be a good wife to him. She may not have been in love at first, but she started falling in love over time. She schemed to keep him because he made her feel special and he is such a prime catch.

Zhao Lusi is eating this role up. I was very skeptical going into this drama. But , she has surpassed my expectations. I actually think this role showcases her acting ability better than any of her previous roles. She’s so controlled and deliberate here, reserved—like we’ve not seen her. She’s usually so spunky and perky in her other roles, but here she’s shed all that girlish “cuteness” and is a reserved and calculating full-grown woman. She’s a total baddie, morally gray character here and I love it.

The mysterious almost-nonexistent buildup, regarding who this man really is, is killing me. So many questions in my mind rn.

I think the story might show her coming to the realization she’s taken the wrong path and that her values have been flawed. I’m hoping it will be a journey of growth for her. I think it will be, for both of them probably.

Nah, I disagree. Zhao Lusi looks fantastic in this drama. Makeup, hair, and style are slaying. Prettiest I’ve seen her.

He’s probably given her several credit cards and a hefty monthly spending allowance to manage the household and whatnot. Also, people know she’s Mrs. Shen. That gets her places that being plain o’ Xu Yan wouldn’t.

Being with him enables her to be a part of a wealthy family with status and connections. She likes that. That’s what she’s getting. Plus, he’s handsome and charming. She gets a hot, sexy husband. Why wouldn’t she want all that? For me personally, it’s not worth the stress of lying all the time and denying your family, but po-tay-to, po-tah-to. Different strokes for different folks. 😆🙃😁
