i think i may have to drop this for now and come back when it’s finished airing - or at least until this miaorong arc is over. my blood pressure reaches dangerous levels every time she appears on screen.

I think a lot of us are liking this drama because it's lighthearted and an easy watch. Most plot lines get resolved…
MDL ratings tend to be higher because a lot of people won't score lower than a 6-7 even if they don't particularly like the drama. This drama is still airing/being subbed as well, usually once it finishes, people will go back and edit their rating to reflect their final thoughts.

Also, everyone rates differently. Some people will rate it on how they personally liked it, while others will rate on the technical aspects. Plotline, acting, music, etc. I think this drama at least manages to perform well in those aspects, there aren't really any glaring plot holes, the scrip doesn't drag too much, the actors are all competent, etc.

Isn't this slightly overrated? The plot is quite predictable...
I think a lot of us are liking this drama because it's lighthearted and an easy watch. Most plot lines get resolved quickly, the characters communicate, and it's a cute romance. It's not anything amazing or mind blowing, but i don't think it was ever meant to be anything more than a feel-good drama so i think the ratings it's getting is fine. It's doing what it set out to do, and it's doing them nicely.

Started watching this on a whim, but really enjoying how heartwarming this is so far! Cases aren't anything crazy, but they're fun and a good way to see all these new friends bonding.

FL is smart and independent, but super cute with the ML, and their teamwork is really nice to watch. ML gets more good looking the more i watch. I thought he was okay looking at first, but oof, by the end of Ep 12, he's SO attractive. For a new actor, he utilises his eyes and expressions really well. Hope we get a happy ending!

I am dropping this drama at ep 34. Just cant stand this yukee chan get into trouble millionth time. its like someone…
You clearly don't like Chen Yuqi as an actress, so i'm not sure why you continuously watch her dramas? If you had continued ATWIL, you would have seen that towards the end, she shows her strength and wins a few fights. Her character started out as the young, naive master, so obviously she gets injured and she has people who protect her all the time. She goes through a lot of growth by the end.

It's okay to dislike certain actors, but it's really a waste of your own time to be watching them if you know you're going to dislike it, and to write off her growth when you haven't even finished the drama.

ok, i sped through the rest of the drama, and i'm now going to go back and watch it properly. and then probably again once the subtitles are out because my chinese is a bit patchy.

i'm content with the ending episodes, they did indeed tie up most of the loose ends, and there's a happy ending. i still think there's an unnecessary amount of deaths in this drama, i think over half of the supporting cast got killed off.

the middle episodes of this drama did it no favours. when i do end up rewatching this, and i know i will because i love the main leads, i'll probably end up skipping from 20-30 simply because the plot doesn't progress too much and 15 episodes of misunderstanding is honestly ridiculous. the beginning and end were paced a lot better, and held my attention a lot more.

i'm not 100% happy with this drama, but i am satisfied. it's not an amazing, mind blowing drama, but it's a nice one with good actors, good chemistry and a nice romance. the plot is the big let down, but if i skip the middle episodes, i like this drama a lot more. a lower episode count would have done this drama wonders.

final thoughts: amazing soundtrack (really, really, really good. fate ends + fate begins have been on replay since release). really good actors with good chemistry. plot is not that great but i can look past that. happy i decided to pick this up because the good outweighs the bad, and i did enjoy my time watching this (if i ignore the frustrating middle).

hi all, anyone knows who dubbed Leo Luo's voice in this drama?
i believe it was bian jiang! he's dubbed for many, many, many roles but you might recognise him as the voice of lan wangji from chen qing ling.

They reconciled by episodes 34 but she's dying soon after the reconciliation. *rolls eyes Poor writing is an understatement.
i'm honestly so tired of the misunderstanding that the difference between 34 and 39 is the same thing despite it being 5 episodes more. 14 vs 19 episodes feels the same, it's 10 episodes too many for just one misunderstanding to drag out and now sgt's going to die right after that.

i don't understand how they dropped the ball so much, the first few episodes really hooked me in and now i have to suffer through it because i really want to see the ending.

i started watching this solely because of the cast, which i think is most of us here. i'm going to stick it out, because i want to see the ending, but i feel like this drama is not a good one to watch as it airs. i think i would have enjoyed it more if i had the ability to binge and skip through the boring parts.

the middle episodes seem so long and draggy, i feel if this drama was a 30 episode drama instead, it would be a lot better. i know most of us are looking forward to the cliff scene and the resolution that comes after it, but if the below comments are correct, it's not coming until episode 39, which leaves 11 episodes until the end. that means that from episode 20-39, the main leads are in a misunderstanding. we received barely two episodes of our main couple being happy together before it all went wrong, and almost half the drama is a lot of them saying that they love each other and not showing it.

the plot so far is okay, but there's so many unnecessary deaths of side characters that we're just beginning to get to know. it makes the drama feel empty, since the characters that i could have had an attachment to are just killed off for reasons that could have been avoided. the court and martial arts world clash is interesting, but i feel like the build up took so long that the actual conflict seems long and drawn out.

i think this drama suffers from too many episodes, and poor script writing. i have faith in the actors, but a good actor can't make a bad script better. i'll keep watching though! hopefully the end episodes will be worth suffering through the middle.
