this is just bad/lazy writing. in the manga and japanese LA version, their convo was more heartfelt. it goes on like this: aoki/atom: "your reaction is more normal than i thought" aida/half: "well then normal is wrong."
the dialogue in this version just doesnt make sense (in my opinion) because atom didnt even refer to himself or even asking half "am i normal?" half just bursted "you're normal" out of nowhere. i feel like they can turn the dialogue in many ways to fit in this version but they choose not to do that ðŸ«
