Oh Hell to the no!!!!! You guys I cannot cuz what in the world was that ending. I’m sorry but there is no freaking way. This is not for anyone seeking any type of gratification from the revenge genre but definitely all the kumbaya « there is always a way » type of people. It was ……. 😒.

Thank you I will check it out. I just may later on because recently I haven't had the stamina to watch long series so I have just been watching the short-length ones.
I love costume dramas the most because of the scenery and the intricate designs, be it the clothing or the hairstyle. But I really enjoy watching stories where the actors have that gravitas, as you so well described. As for the romance for me is subjective because it is not really a driving factor as I find that as long as the actors have good chemistry in a good mise en scene equipped with a decent plot, you can get that easily (but the romantic plots are often very questionable in dramas if one starts to think about it which is why i usually forego that aspect).

Thank you for your feedback. Their age was not the problem to me it was their demeanors and @Lulupony mentioned that it was due to a filter, which is why they appear so young. A lot of the historical dramas with a bit more serious undertone just don't really look right with bright pampered-faced individuals who are supposed to look like they have gone through hell and back (I think that's what throws me off a lot). There is a certain maturity that they add to certain characters that just makes them more ... fitting to the plot, especially with a noncomedic plot line.
And based on Lulupony's response apparently, i didn't understand anything after episode 2. I was watching on YouTube in Full versions so I wouldn't know at exactly which episode I stopped but I made it to part 4.

Thank you so much. I appreciate it because I figured from the start that the romance was definitely not the catching point but wanted to at least understand what I was watching because at first, it was very compelling, but then it was just too much to understand especially with the subbing.

ok thank you for the overview of the casting, I've seen earlier works of FL which is why the reviews just sounded personal (on their parts). Could you tell me (story-wise) what happened like i get the who part up until she was sent away then after that the drama I think did a time skip and sometimes does flashbacks that I don't understand and something about some fox demon .

Can someone explain to me what is going on please. Like I watched, I think a 3rd of the series before dropping it because honestly, it is dragging on and I am lost with all that's going on Plus the subbing isn't really helping. I got the start but then it just became .... i don't know. I also looked up some of the reviews that were disappointed with the choice for FL ( I personally wouldn't consider her one of my eye candies but she is one of the better cdrama actresses right now. A lot of the comments were just ridiculous) because of the book and tbh I feel like none of the leads was casted right ( I don't know why but I feel like more imposing males should've been casted instead of school boys looking ones ).

Since I understand nothing can someone who read the book and watched it help me understand what's going on and if the casting was true to form (especially for the FL cuz the way they are ripping into her is a bit much).

Currently watching (ep4) and it is hard to digest a bit. But honestly what really bothers me right now Is the whole romance between the kids. It is weird to have little kids kissing up like that or the lil girl being so infatuated and I hate that they kind of normalized it cuz they are 8 after all (like what happen to kids jut being kids😭) . I liked the concept but I don’t really know where it is going. I am so confused.

One thing I hate about a lot of drama watchers on this platform is the fact that they cannot accept that people have different perspectives and are entitled to their personal views and opinions. Some like to pressure others because they are stans or whatever when this is supposed to be a community. Their chemistry was off to me and many other and I voiced it. I made no comments on the plot because I have heard great thing but it’s just not my cup of tea. And if anyone who is like me and starts whatching dramas by browsing and seeing clips I think that is personally fine. I feel like most of us watch a trailer or read reviews to kind of get a feel of before getting invested. This not only applies to dramas but also Hollywood, Bollywood, Nollywood and etc…I made a comment to engage in a discussion not for the lecturing nonsense but obviously it flew over peoples head. I wanted to add that the plot wasn’t enough for me because I saw some of the characters descriptions and I found that I could watch something more appealing to me that followed the same format.
* I wanted to thank the person who had commented about -if not into the first episode then not to bother- because somethings aren’t for everyone and that was one of the few sound advices about this I saw. No one wants to spend 16+hrs or even 4hrs just to figure out that they hated or wasted their time because it’s not for them.

I was sharing my opinion and what I did was criticism look it up. many people may like but truth is that many also dislike it not everyone that will rate especially if they dropped it early on plus there many who love it for the story line and found the chemistry also lacking. I can bring bias or unbiased statement as I please. plenty of actor portray chemistry without needing for the entire story to be watched which is my point. I chose not to waste my time because it did not appeal to me neither on a plot nor chemistry level. And as you chose to reply so can I because you could have left it at that and moved but tried to contradict my point by actually reinforced it. You can be a fan as you want but as I stated there actors who better portray what sexual tension and chemistry is. I suggest you look into that further and get yourself acquainted with it.

Honestly all is subjective and I felt that due to the fact I find the Ml generally bland in his roles like others have mentioned, I watched a couple of their scenes together with non drama watchers and they just found them to be akward especially on his part which made the scenes very weird and off. I even compared it some other dramas and their leads chemistry and this was still somewhat off putting. Just to have an unbiased opinion I had them watch different clips from different dramas and they all said the same thing in regards to these two. I'm happy you seemed to have enjoyed it though.

this maybe controversial but from the clips I have seen, they have zero chemistry; like the pairing is kind of awkward. At least it seems that her acting has significantly improved since Oh my empreror

tbh based on the fact that a simple mv hurts this much I'd say it is probably for the best because knowing the story why would they torture people with even more heartbreaking details.

I gotta say ....... I was very confused to say none the least the subbing made no sense whatsoever and there was too much gap for me to appropriately fill in the blank so honestly idk what i just watched.

So is this related to Mission in parallel? because they seem to both have the same little bear sidekick/ assistant and the lead is also Su Luxia.

I’m so upset because I was going to watch this for my girl Preaw . I read the comments and review and I ain’t gonna lie I’m over it. I can’t believe they not only made her the antagonist but the psycho hoe is wild af 😭. Like her and Mick look like they’d have great chemistry 😒.

That’s good that they developed his character but he was not that bad for starters. She is so annoying it kills what we as the viewers are supposed to see as chemistry because at the end we just feel sorry for him having to deal with the constant nonsense . If her character is the same, I’ll pass .

I mean I feel like most Cdrama fl have their moments but for her they made her extra annoying she specifically falls under the unbearable to watch leads umbrellas and that in itself is a big turnoff for me 😂
