I'm a bit confused – what's with the airing time? I translated the schedule (it's on 13th page of photos here) and according to it, the newest episode as for today (13th Sep) should be 35th (and it's in the SVIP section), or at least 34 (from VIP section). However, MDL page obviously shows that the airing has ended and the countdown for the next episodes isn't there as well.
So what is it? Where are the rest of 5-6 episodes or why MDL says airing ended today?
*People hating on the female lead because of her looks:*Ah yes, because clearly, the main job of an actress is…
Thanks for clarifying the matter of the male lead actor! To be honest, I was hoping someone in the comments would say something more about his situation, besides bashing him, his looks and age.
The FL switches between being a working announcer and a scholarship student? I thought people suffering from DID…
Literally my thoughts. Honestly the whole discussion about Shin Hye Sun's looks and age are in my opinion kinda sad. She is a great actresses with years of experience and she's well known for her dramas. Some could not like the way she acts, but what her looks have to do with that? It's sad that under article about premere date people would rather discuss about actress's looks than the premise of her upcoming drama that actually doesn't make much sense... at least to me, because just like you said, I've heard about it too, that DID doesn't work like that. From a few interviews with people with DID I've noticed sometimes one personality has more power over different personality, usually because of their roles – protector and child. It makes sense that the person is aware of change in personalities in that case, but in the drama premise it sounds like these are two, completely separate characters with different lifestyles... How do you think they will portray Shin Hye Sun's character? And what are your thoughts about how the actresses could present the character with DID, considering the drama's premise? I'm hoping she'll do a great job just like Park Eun Bin in Extraordinary Attorney Woo!
I avoided One and Only but decided to watch it after Forever and Ever. I was so sad I had to rewatch Forever and…
That's actually amazing idea. I'm scared to watch One and Only, but thought of watching it the same way you did gives me some relative assurance hahah Thanks for this!
The second season would be nothing but pointless. What else would they show there? It's not like a story of detectives…
I don't need you to describe the whole process of our discussion.
Also, I never said it's literally impossible. I said it would be pointless considering the ending we already have.
And why didn't you address my reasons? Let me ask you again – what about the cost, time, crew and the actors? Why didn't you say your reasons (besides next sessions done similarly to Penthouse)?
About Penthouse – The plot might be similar to what you were describing when you talked about next seasons of Queen of Tears. My point was that they planned next seasons beforehand, so they made the plot and story like that. Therefore I think Queen of Tears won't have next seasons.
Besides that, I'd appreciate if you could stop praising yourself so much. Not sure why you did this, but I think it's unnecessary and off-putting. Some people may not mind behavior like that, but not me.
And lastly – did I really deserve you to say that I answered you "insecurely and apprehensively"?
Putting yourself on the pedestal and at the same time putting your interlocutor down isn't fantastic, heroic, doesn't have any finesse to it and isn't humble at all. So why would you do something like that?

Just like @MoonPrsmPwr said in other comment, Christopher Columbus definitely wasn't a hero. The "history lesson" was also unnecessary, they teach about this guy repeatedly throughout the years of schooling. I'm sure I already knew that "Christopher Columbus discovered America" when I was 11 years old, probably even younger than that.
Also The Penthouse season 1 finished airing on January 5th, 2021. The second season was announced... when? Oh, it was only a week later! And aired a month after the trailer was released. What's even funnier, later that year third season also was aired. My point is, although I may not know the plot of The Penthouse drama, the airing dates show one thing: they were prepared for the next seasons. It's been two weeks since the last episode of Queen of Tears came out and there's no discussion about next seasons. This kinda beats your argument. But just to be clear, I want to say my reasons for this drama not getting next seasons: 1. The former drama with highest nationwide rating of the finale episode was Crash Landing on You. Queen of Tears beat the record by over 3%. For the past four years Crash Landing on You didn't get the second season, and with this drama's ending, second season would be a bit more possible. Why? Well, maybe because it didn't show the death of the main leads at the end. There are much more possibilities when you're still alive (even for a couple from North and South Korea), believe me... 2. It is literally pointless. The ending checked all the boxes: showing the main leads get ther happy ever after, becoming parents and meeting when one of them already died naturally. 3. What about the cost? The time? The amount of people that worked on and in this drama? Kim Soo Hyun being one of the top payed actors?? I'm sure for most of these people and aspects it's better to take on or make a new project rather than come back to something that made such a huge success. The expectations for next seasons would be enormous. It is not an American show. There's no need to drag it out like that. I could go on even more. But I want to know what are your reasons to think that Queen of Tears will get next seasons. Of course besides the ideas you already mentioned – ML getting cancer or parents losing memory.
The second season would be nothing but pointless. What else would they show there? It's not like a story of detectives…
Another aspect I totally agree on! I got so used to Asian dramas format rarely having more than one season now I can't imagine myself watching series like Lucifer, The Walking Dead because they became way too long for me. I love how in kdramas it usually takes around 16-20 hours to tell the whole story instead of multiple dragged out seasons. So with Queen of Tears is just makes sense to end it with one season. They knew when to finish it and delivered satisfying ending.
The second season would be nothing but pointless. What else would they show there? It's not like a story of detectives…
Totally agreed. If the second half was done differently, leaving vewers with some kind of cliffhanger that isn't resolved in the next episode and the ending was open with many possibilities left, I would probably be one of those people who would love to see second season of this drama. But nothing like that happened!! So the second season would be not only pointless, but with how the drama actually ended, second season would be probably much worse. The only thing left that we can count on with this drama is a remake from another country, but even if it could happen, I don't think it'll be in the near future.
The second season would be nothing but pointless. What else would they show there? It's not like a story of detectives…
Show me at least one Korean drama where they made second or even third season for that reason. They will not make next season only to show alternative versions of the story. As far as I know, a drama like that doesn't exist. The whole idea of Male Lead getting cancer is ridiculous, parents losing their memory even more, why would they lose their memory? Have you ever seen a drama based on trope where parents lose memory and the whole story revolves around that? I did not.
In conclusion – not everything has to have some sort of continuation or another version, and it doesn't matter how good it was. Some things, some dramas, will just end like this one, and it's totally okay. There will be no season 2 or 3. It's not another american Netflix series so theres no need to drag it for 5 seasons, especially WHEN THERE'S ALREADY ENDING, A GOOD ONE AT THAT.
The second season would be nothing but pointless. What else would they show there? It's not like a story of detectives (Flex x Cop) so there could be new cases they have to solve, also it isn't story of hospital staff (Dr. Romantic & Hospital Playlist).
In the aforementioned dramas making more than one season seems resonable, when it comes to dramas like Queen of Tears it doesn't make any sense. The whole story is already told, there's nothing left to add, so why would they make second season and why did you even ask about it?
Oh boy this was a great drama, until it wasn’t. For once I was enjoying the fact we had a smart responsible…
I'm glad I checked the comments, cuz until around 11th or 12th/16 episode I enjoyed the drama. Now I'm in the middle of 13th episode and I wanted to check when things get better, and if the stir will be dragged in the next episodes. Your comment convinced me to protect myself from frustration, so I'll just end the drama here. Thank you!
JUST AN ASSUMPTIONShin-yu fought to protect Hong-jo against people that wanted Hong-jo’ spell book. Hong-jo…
I like your theory so much I want to add something to it! When I was reading a discussion about the latest episode on reddit, I found a few good points so that's what I wanna add. As one of the comments stated, Hong-jo read in the spell book that the author knew her life is going to end soon. I'm just not sure when she read it in the drama. But because of that and your theory about Shin-yu killing Hong-jo so she wouldn't be tortured, three different ideas came to my mind. 1. Hong-jo wanted to protect the spell book so that is why she put this curse on herself, she knew she will die anyway so at least her killer would have to pay for her death. She didn't expect that Shin-yu would be the one to kill her. 2. (that's more twisted idea) She knew that Hong-jo would kill her and she wanted to find him in their next lives thanks to the curse. 3. This time the other way around - Hong-jo knew that if he kills her he'll be cursed so he wanted to tie their fates through the curse because he couldn't protect her in this life, and he felt guilty about killing her, so he knew he had to pay the price (and he actually wanted to pay it).
Every of my part of the theory sounds at least a bit twisted, one way or another hahaha But no matter how it actually went I just hope we'll get to see a happy ending for these two sweethearts. They definitely deserve it.
