Why can't they call the effing ambulance alreadyyy??????? Like wtf she's been lying there for minutes losing blood!…
Oh, and I loved when Jeong-hyuk said he had so much more to say to Se-ri such as, “I love you.” His straightforward declaration has been missing, so I wondered when he’d say it.
I thought he’d say it after they exchanged rings. But he didn’t. Then I thought surely at the bridge scene he’d say it. But he didn’t.

That was my first thought too: “call 911 (or equivalent). She’s losing too much blood” Lol But then I remembered that neither she nor his 1st Lt even tried to use pressure to stop Jeong Hyuk’s bleeding when he was shot.
I agree. Loved the entire scene when they exchanged rings.
Also, it was so fitting the Man Bok shot Cho Cheol Gang
So, we know Jeong-hyuk and Se-ri are attracted to each other from the beginning. But I’m curious when you all…
I think Se-ri fell in Ep 5 when Jeong-hyuk said he’d be right back, but he didn’t come home until the next morning. I laughed so hard after she rattled off her calculations about what time he should have been home.
Jeong-hyuk fell in Ep 6 when he temporarily lost sight of Se-ri and became almost frantic looking around for her. His pained expression after he said she’d be safe as long as she was in his sight, told the story. Poor baby. Lol
So, we know Jeong-hyuk and Se-ri are attracted to each other from the beginning. But I’m curious when you all think they actually fell for each other. Since my response involves details from the show, I’ll put it in a spoiler reply. I’d love to read your thoughts as well.
I've thought since 4 episodes ago they were going to end up in Switzerland. It would make a kind of sense to start…
I don’t mean that they just end up there though, which is what I initially though almost from the beginning. I’m wondering if we find out that this entire story has been told by them having been there for some years and they are looking back and telling their children or grandchildren how destiny brought them, an unlikely couple (one from NK and the other from SK) together in the first place. And now, years later, they can finally move back to a unified Korea.
Musings... I’ve been wondering if maybe Jeong-Hyuk and Se-ri are actually in Switzerland telling their children (or their grandchildren?) the story of how they met when NK and SK were separated. Therefore, could his wanting to see her old and gray with wrinkles possibly be foreshadowing that outcome? A stretch, I know. Just a feeling I got around Eps 6 or 7... with her talk of reunification and my thinking of their being in a future where it’s either happening or happened. I wasn’t thinking of them as old and gray however. Lol Of course, his dad would have had to arrange a way for him to go back to Switzerland as a pianist (or student) because I can’t imagine he’d leave his parents in any kind of danger by just leaving.
Now with Ep 12, though, isn’t it telling the Jeong-hyuk tells Se-ri that he wants to be “here” with her instead of saying he wants to take her with him to NK? So non-patriarchal of him. Lol. Yes, I know he knows that she belongs in SK. On the one hand, Se-ri seems to have more genuine (non work-related) friendships in NK, so in some ways, it makes sense for her to go there. But then, the question becomes how could she safely move and live there?
On the other hand, Jeong-hyuk doesn’t strike me as the type who’d be willing to defect to SK by telling his country’s secrets to SK government officials. So how could he safely defect there? Of course with Sheri’s money, perhaps he could just melt into SK, becoming a pianist as he’s dreamed (and still seems to dream) of doing. Whew! I didn’t mean to get this far into the weeds. Lol
Anyway, if not, the Switzerland ending (which I kinda think would be a shame without the reunification ending because I’d hate for them both to have to give up their countries/cultures for a European country/culture), I’d gladly take a Season 2.
No, I don’t want a Season 1 ending with Jeong-hyuk disappearing and Se-ri not knowing where he is necessarily. But what about his getting stuck in SK on the verge of being found out and the two of them having to figure out what’s next? It’s a rom-com after all. Lol I’m definitely not nearly ready for Jeong-hyuk and Se-ri’s story to end just yet...
I remember that Shonda Rimes says that she loves to write herself into a corner and then figure out how to get out of it. Looking forward to how this skillful writer handles Ep 16.
This is a spoilers replyI've cried a lot in 11 and 12..cried when the village women gave the other woman heir…
The husband is in jail because he knew about the dirty stuff Cho Cheol Gang was doing, including harboring criminals in the guest house in NK. In fact, we find out in Ep 6 that he was Cho’s mentor. I don’t think he was as dirty as Cho, but he was greedy and didn’t mind taking his cut of ill-gotten gains.
Thanks! I just took at look. I’m not sure, but it’s certainly something interesting to ponder, especially…
No, I wouldn’t want to spoil it for others either. I just looked it up and think I understand the 2 meanings. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I didn’t know about the other meaning before now.
Thanks! I just took at look. I’m not sure, but it’s certainly something interesting to ponder, especially…
Oh, ok. I thought you meant he was holding something because he seems to be twisting something in his hands. Now I’m off to search the two meanings in Korean culture.
This just further pushes me to believe that we are going get a HUGE payoff to make up for all of that. Oh man…
A huge payoff is what I’m hoping for as well. She has said, “I love you” to him albeit on the phone. Even though, in the ending scene of this Ep (12) he said, “the person I love,” he has yet to say to her, “I love you.” So I hope he will.
Eeeeee!! Possible major spoiler of something from next week. I won’t say what it is but go watch the little…
Thanks! I just took at look. I’m not sure, but it’s certainly something interesting to ponder, especially when I noticed something on his hand that I don’t remember ever seeing before.
Aww, my heart broke when she started crying at the end of episode. Can't imagine an ending that's not happy :(.So…
Looking forward to when Ju Muk meets Choo Ju Woo. Wonder if that’s why they’re in suits next week?
The sister-in-law is the worst. She’s dragged her husband across a line that he seemed to be unwilling to cross. But, yes, so many scenes did me in emotionally, especially the ending. I love that Jeong-huk knows their relationship is destiny.
Loved that they told Jeong-hyuk he was not alone when it came to protecting Se-ri. Special forces, indeed.
But I cannot lie. I’m here for Jeong-hyuk and Se-ri’s love first and foremost. Lol
I thought he’d say it after they exchanged rings. But he didn’t. Then I thought surely at the bridge scene he’d say it. But he didn’t.
So I hope he’ll say it again directly to her.
I agree. Loved the entire scene when they exchanged rings.

Btw, the watch scene was nice.
