There's a scene somewhere like ep4-6 where Hae Won asks Eun Seob why he calls her aunt by her name and talks informally…
He actually says “Noona,” which is used by a guy to a woman who is his age or a little older. It can also be used romantically, but I doubt the aunt meant that connotation. The age difference is why Hae Won makes a point to tell her aunt she is way past 40. I had the impression that Hae Won says “sorry” to Eun Seob because a) she knows it probably makes him uncomfortable and b) she’s a little embarrassed because her aunt asked to to use that term in the first place. My 2 cents.
Yes it is very important to read the blog posts. Without them you might not understand Eun Sub's character that…
I think he calls Irene because of his thoughts about (fascination? with) the concept of “Goodnight.” Goodnight, Irene is an old blues song from the 1930s, popularized by Lead Belly.
I just saw the 4 first ep and didn't like it so much. Will this get better? The propaganda in this drama is really…
I think it gets better than Se-ri’s first impressions born of fear of unintentionally being in a new place, a closed society that she’s only heard about. She evolves as she gets to know the people. If you decide to watch more episodes, please let us know if you think the writer succeeds in showing Se-ri’s evolution or if you still think there’s that all North Koreans are bad guys and the South Koreans are good guys vibe.
I agree with you for the ending. It is not practical and may not be practiced long term but on the other hand,…
I noticed RJH’s mom light bulb moment also. So I think she probably spoke with the dad about getting him out of the military and back into music. As pianist for the orchestra, he gets to travel all over the world for concerts, which makes it easier for Seri and him to meet (and call each other) several times a year, with the 2 weeks in Switzerland being their extended time together. I think it was a clever solution for now until their circumstances change. Otherwise, his defecting puts his parents’ lives in danger.
This solution also gives Seri a chance to know what’s going on with the guys, the ajummas, and Man Bok and family since RJH can update her. It seems that RJH also kept the guys informed about her to a certain extent.
I didn’t think the ending was rushed at all. We can agree to disagree there. Lol I liked that the writer gave us about an hour and a half to show us 3 years of their lives and how they thrived in their everyday lives separately while still lovingly staying connected. Well, I guess the 2nd year they were out of touch, but they were trying to reconnect with hope rather that desperation.
I read one commenter’s question though that made sense: once RJH had traveled outside of NK for his first concert, why didn’t he just call Seri to make arrangements to meet up? Good question. Lol I guess the writer was taking romantic license to make their meeting “fate” like their other meetings.
I think that Seri meets up with RJH at several of his concerts around the world throughout the year. Those 2 weeks in Switzerland, until certain circumstances change, is simply their extended time together. And I suspect that they both send preprogrammed text messages daily. :)
Congratulations ? (chugha ham nida) This is by far one of the best kdrama I’ve ever witnessed in a long time.…
The writing was phenomenal. Park Ji Eun checked all the boxes for me. A brilliant finale!
The acting, directing, and cinematography were top notch. It’s early in the year, of course, but Crashing Landing on You should win several awards for 2020.
CLOY rating now 19.2 going into the Finale. Hope it sets a record with the Finale. https://www.soompi.com/article/1383271wpp/crash-landing-on-you-heads-into-finale-on-its-highest-ratings-yet-itaewon-class-soars-to-new-personal-best
This writer did not disappoint. She kept the storyline evolving at a high level throughout, from Ep 1 through Ep 16. The directing, acting, cinematography were excellent. Great, great finale.
Let me just go on record to say that I don’t appreciate Chi Su and Ju Meok messing Eun Dong. Not one little bit. I hope Seri finds out and deals with them accordingly. Lol
Why would Cho Cheol Gang shoot RJH in that situation? He has to know it’s suicide? Isn’t his goal to take…
Right! Good point. I wondered why he thought that bringing Seri back could help him get out of all the charges he has hanging over him. So when the Military Director came back into the picture, I wondered if he’d have enough juice to make all those charges go away if Cho helped him get RJH’s dad out of the way and take that high powered position.
Thanks! And here’s one with English subtitles https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5b8Jn6oz8Ug
I just read that comment about his guest spot and wondered what the connection was. Thanks for letting me know. I’m not familiar with drama you named, so I’ll look it up.

Oh, sorry. I was thinking specifically of Ep 15. Overall, I think they will have a happy ending. I think they will reunite in Switzerland and in the future, they will be able to return to a unified Korea. I hate the thought of them permanently giving up their country and culture in Europe.
This solution also gives Seri a chance to know what’s going on with the guys, the ajummas, and Man Bok and family since RJH can update her. It seems that RJH also kept the guys informed about her to a certain extent.
