I watched this a few years ago after finishing Ashes of Love, and I'm now watching Ray Chang and Yang Zi in Immortal Samsara 9 years later.

Does anyone find that he kinda reminds you of the Youtuber Danny Gonzalez from some angles?

lol. But yeah, I'm finding the time progression in these past few episodes super weird. Like a year has passed, but nothing about the characters have really changed except for their facial hair, so it doesn't feel like a whole year has gone by.

Awu was Xiao Qi's equal in every way at the beginning, and I loved them together. But now, it feels like they're less and less compatible and she's holding him back. Xiao Qi deserves someone who supports him and will stand up to injustice. I has such high expectations for Awu. I started watching the drama specifically for ZZY, and yet, Xiao Qi is now the one who's keeping me watching.

haha yeah! HZ was really hurt by that. The last words she says in the scene is "jian ao" , which directly translates to torment. But I agree, I do kinda wish that she showed a bit more rage and disgust outwardly.

In the flower field scene, she does tell Helan Zhen that she likes his gift, BUT she won't accept it. IMO, I think what she means is that she likes what the gift reminds her of (i.e., XQ's earlier promise to take her to explore the grasslands), but she won't accept it from HZ. But that's just me reading deeper into what she's saying and trying to match her words to her expression. That's why I think she looks melancholy because being here on the grasslands (plus seeing Ah Li Ma again) reminds her of when she first fell in love with XQ.

haha no problem! tbh, I had the same concern at the beginning of the conversation because of the way she was looking at the wedding robe and and how unreadable her facial expression was, but eventually she dumps it all on him loud and clear.

Basically, he says that he promises that he won't force her to do anything when they get married, but that he just wants to give her the title of being his princess consort to protect her. But she says that she doesn't need a title, she already has one: she's Xiao Qi's princess consort. He asks why she won't let go of a dead person who's never going to come back, when he's right here and willing to protect her. She promptly shuts him down by saying that even if Xiao Qi were dead, she'd never be his bride. Before he leaves he asks her if she ever had any feelings for him, even if just a little, and she said never. She says that every moment she spends with him is torment.
