We must be watching very different dramas, because I'm not seeing a lot of that. And if you know how the mechanics work, stop calling people who have had sex virgins, because it makes you seem like you don't actually know anything about sex.

You literally said that if someone doesn't like it, they are forcing themselves to not like it. That is such nonsense, that it also applies to the other side of the coin. If you think it's OK to like it, and it makes sense for you to like it, why would you claim that people who don't like it are forcing themselves to hate it? Are you 12???? Your logic is non existent. I would suggest taking a logic course or two in high school when you get there.

Production companies absolutely use stats when it comes to dramas, they'd be silly not to..It's definitely an issue when they rely on those and do formulaic shit. It's also an issue when they try and break the mould by spending a lot of money, and going in the complete opposite direction. I grew up watching quirky shit with grey characters. I was 11 or 12 when Twin Peaks first aired, and I was hooked on the grey characters and the fact that everyone had their own game plan. It was brilliantly done. I feel that this drama wants to do a similar thing, but it's not playing the quiet parts quietly enough. They're screaming the characters at us, as if we're too stupid to understand nuance (although some viewers are struggling even with the bit that is there). In short, I like messy, I like complicated people, I just feel that sometimes we get it, and sometimes it feels like a very cheap weekend drama.

Yep. Saying it's not realistic, and they're giving 9 and 10 stars to unrealistic dramas is hilarious. Study Group is bad because it's unrealistic, but Sweet Home is excellent because it's a documentary about the time that people turned into monsters. 🤣

I think you're correct about people's expectations. Mine were pretty low because I don't think LMH is a good actor, but the premise had me interested to check it out.

Yes, but Beauty & Mr Romantic was FAR worse, and featured one of my most hated drama elements: supposed millionaires living in what are clearly povvo lofts. Drives me insane. At least here the rich people actually look rich.

I know people who have shelves with pretty much nothing on them, because it's just part of 'standard' furniture you buy. Also, she's a scientist, and she'll be reading journal articles online for work, not so much books if she's a workaholic.

Personally, no. She doesn't strike me as a knick knack kind of person, and if you're in space for a year, who's dusting all your decorations? She's avoided relationships up until now (and probably should have continued that way because she's got awful taste in men) because she was career focused. She's very no nonsense, and not caring about 'decorating' her apartment seems I'm character to me. Some people only care that their living spaces are clean and functional.

I think ratings on MDL tend to be quite generous. You see dramas that have universally negative comments on how bad it is, and it still gets a passing grade. People will say something is awful, and still give it 5/10 stars 🤷‍♀️

I mean, most of the space stuff in this drama is unrealistic.
