I've just watched the 1st ep, and it was hilariously bad. I assume it gets better?

I'm 46 and Hide is mid for me. I like many genres, but Hide just isn't hitting. I like thrillers/mysteries that make me feel tense, but I think the only moment that got me was when Bom was taken away and was then being taken overseas - as a mother who had a bad breakup with my ex, that hit very hard indeed.

I just watched episode 1 and it was so stupid my mind is blown. It was funny though, so I'm going to keep watching.

Episode 1 was so fucking stupid that I'm going to keep watching this for shits and giggles. Although watching someone have to explain basic IT to a boomer was infinitely relatable.

The last few episodes were a bit manic with the storytelling, but I agree with you that overall it's a very satisfying drama. Did you watch A Dream of Splendour? If not, I recommend. Another historical with actually smart and strong women, and excellent chemistry with the main leads.

You're a bit weird for calling it mid when you said you haven't watched it. Do you also rate dramas highly that you haven't watched? Review: 1 star, never watched it. Make it more like something I want to watch that I've never watched.

Her performance feels so natural and she has incredible on-screen charm. Her character in this is very Mary Sue, but her charisma prevents the role from being insufferable, and I don't think a lot of young actresses could pull that off. I'm really looking forward to seeing what she does in future as she refines her craft, she's already very good and I think she has enormous potential..

It's good that you admit that your experience is extremely limited. Some people wouldn't do that, and would pretend that their opinion is based on extensive watching.

I frequently agree with Avenue X, although I admit I haven't watched her for a little while because I stopped watching a lot of cdramas for precisely the things she often complains about. With the amount of capital and talent available in China, they should be making some of the best dramas in the world, but all too frequently they shaft themselves with terribly written characters in terrible lighting with terrible post production. It's just sad.

I smashed through the first 14 episodes because I got hooked so fast. I stopped watching a lot of cdramas because too often I despise the toxic way men and women are depicted, but this has really well written characters that have completely sucked me into their stories. The FL is a bit too Mary Sue for me, however the actress is really delivering with charm, which stops the character from being annoying, and makes her feel more like a person we've all met who really does seem to be multi talented and enviously good looking at the same time.

I'm so annoyed that I only just started watching this! I freaking LOVE it and powered through the first 14 episodes. It's giving me A Dream of Splendor vibes.

This has just turned into a melodrama about psychos. Can't believe there's another 6 episodes to go 🙄

What ep did you get up to? I'm getting through it by watching many scenes on x2 speed to at least make it funny.
