She is so beautiful and wonderful actress in everything she does (stylish, glamour, normal). I wish she could get more than mother roles and instead FL roles for more mature dramas because she often more gorgeous than everyone around her.
I was prepared not to like this but have actually enjoyed the first two episodes. Park Min Young and Joo Jong Hyuk have such great chemistry (and it's funny to see him in a good role, I keep thinking oh I hated him in that drama but he's so cute and good here).
i rated this 10/10 but after a korean did a thread on its misogynistic remarks (some of which i actually noticed…
Hey can you share the link to those remarks? Everyone has rated this drama so highly and for me it was absolutely stunning in parts, but the characters of the actress and the bar tender and the mother were absolutely poorly written. The brothers were given the best to work with in terms of story and plot and it felt like the women were either afterthoughts or there to show change for the men who progressed based on them. I also just found that everyone who puts Ji An in a romantic relationship with him was missing the point of a platonic family member who supports you (a father or older brother type) which is how I saw it until I read everyone wanting them to be romantically involved which made me feel sick.
Happy it was heat stroke. For a second there, it looked like he was on something. It's such a shame producers…
I agree with you he needs main lead roles and would do well with arrogant haughty roles like CEO, vampire, etc (S Line was such a poor story). His voice is such pure perfection too. I do think he sometimes has looked like he was on drugs or something in some of his Instagram stories which is worrying. Hope he is doing okay and gets better roles, his agency needs to focus on that instead of fan signings for 12 hours which is overwork.
He does look older, but definitely not like he could be FL’s father (in all seriousness, please) and I’m not…
Why lie so blatantly about being "impartial?" Just hilarious because you have three comments on this page just trying to defend him. He looks old and wasn't right for the part, that is my opinion and I don't have to be impartial because opinions aren't facts.
His acting choices (or maybe it was the director's choice) didn't work either. That naive and/or clueless look…
Exactly, the criticism was warranted and casting directors should make better choices. FL already looks younger than her age so the creepiness was higher.
He did look like a teacher and the FL's father rather than a student and he shouldn't have been cast. I really liked him in other projects (he did excellent in No Mercy) but this role left a bad taste. The other cast FL and SML do look high school aged and the casting should look the same.
So the drama itself is terrible, terrible idea, terrible execution. The rating is for the fact that Lee Soo Hyuk is a male god with his handsome face and perfect voice. Then Arin looks and acts so well and finally Lee Da Hee needs a better femme fatal role she is exquisite. Lee Eun Seom needs to find range because bratty teenager has gotten boring. Oh and Arin's friends were both great new additions.
Dropped at the second mystery sequence as MLs are great but FL is written so poorly it makes me mad (mentally ill over a dead guy then obsesssed then helpless damsel then mentally magically ok etc).
I love this FL in Guardians of Dafeng and her role here. Also love the demons group, cat and snake working together, such a refreshing thing for women to be friends and support each other.
we should not hate him because he's a good actor but tbh he looks very off in the uniform as he's clearly older…
Yeah, I am in agreement with you over the fact that he looks like the ML's father or uncle rather than a high schooler and then has a crush on her so that is icky and pedofiliac. I don't like huge age gaps in general because it is almost always young girl with old guy and there are issues of grooming there as well. See Goblin.
It looked like an 80s spoof of Aladdin and wasn't that bad? I don't know what it has to do with the drama (which…
Ok I get your perspective and agree that there is an issue with anti-Blackness in kpop (I haven't watched as many dramas with an issue but maybe there has been). I don't know the context of this show yet, but this looks like an ad from the 80s spoofing or copying Aladdin and I don't see religion here? I guess my question is are you arguing this specific representation is so bad or overall the treatment of Middle Eastern cultures? Are Koreans or East Asian not allowed to wear costumes or play Princess Jasmine (a White Disney created character) especially when Arab and India are such heavy consumers of (and haters of) kpop and k content and there is such a high fetishization of Asian women? Like this isn't as simple as you are arguing either, the power differential of Arab countries being able to buy and pay for k pop stars to play at parties or Indian to hire Soo bin for would then also be really problematic.
exactly, and they keep bringing up other casts but in True Beauty all of the cast members were within 5 years of each other and Moon Ka Young is on year older than Cha Eun Woo. They also looked like high schoolers. Here he is much older at least 10 years than the FL and other cast members and also looks like her father. They need higher standards across all media to stop encouraging grooming and pedofile behaviors and their enablers.
