Political yet camp
This mini drama is the first one I finished, and I am very happy with it. The plots throughout the story have satisfying conclusions to watch, very soap opera like resolutions. But besides that, it also has a very political overturn. Our protagonist stands for social justice and is very diplomatic. This show is all about her. I finished it fully admiring her! I honestly wish I could see her in her own era, living in contemporary China. But don't expect to see her back to modern days, it doesn't happen. Was this review helpful to you?
a sub dom comedy with twists and turns
A sub dom comedy with twists and turnsEnjoyJune must be the most chemical and comical couple in GL nowadays. June's performance is spot on, she's "I don't want to be here" sub who delivers all the nuances necessary to her character. She plays the rich mature woman being forced to endure a hot girl's loving endeavors. And Enjoy, well... She sure is the hot, young and spirited girl, very loving and very... horny, too! Every night.
Love scenes in episode 3 are SMOKING HOT and are definitely my favourites, of all 2025 GLs. But don't go watching just these scenes and not the entire series, they are the most fun to watch when you get the whole picture. But the direction for this kind of scene and the ending messages they leave on cellphone in this episode really reminded me of BL Suntiny.
Though their initial dynamics is very problematic, borderline 4busiv3, as the series continues we see how their relationship evolves into something with great potential. I hope they make more episodes!
I recommend this GL, but proceed with caution. :)

Club Friday Theory of Love: Merit Wins the Soul

With soul indeed, and no fear
This production struck me out of the blue, when I was just passing through titles in my favourite GL website... And I am thankful for that.Since first episode we have character development and the plot flows smoothly, or even a little fast. This means you won't be bored or feel stuck (something I often feel in GL).
The plot follows a novelist who falls in love at first sight with a model. What a fantastic way to start a story! This is precisely what caught my attention at first because it seemed so personal. Later, I found out that it was based on a true story from a radio broadcasting, on which listeners shared their real life experiences.
But there are some downsides to this series: the toxic relationships, the lying, people humiliating Namhom, Fon being controlling and paternalistic towards Namhom, all the sl*t shaming every episode to the point it escalates to physical v1olence... And so on. Thus, as the series itself advises: don't go copying their behaviour in real life, it's very damaging.
For those who can enjoy this story sceptically, it can be very entertaining. I can honestly say that these four episodes are binge watch material!
Since it's based on true events, someone already went through this, so you won't have to. It is a cautionary tale, testing one theory of love: merit wins the soul, goodness conquers all. Does it? Just get ready to experience all your saviour fantasies, with a sour taste through and through. Let the ending message sink in; then just turn off your PC, and go back to developing your healthy relations. This way no harm will be done.

Was this review helpful to you?

Beautifully directed and acted
First episode scenes are designed to catch you attention and curiosity. The drama, the suffering, the sudden time travelling! I didn't watch reverse 4 you so I was very curious about how our time traveler's powers worked. I love almost everything about this title, expect the lack of a second plot after the first one is resolved, and there's still this premonition that something bad will happen, but it never does, and there's no explanation for it. Except for that, beautifully acted and directed! Natt is definitely a stunner! Was this review helpful to you?
long but delicate
This GL really shows mature people in healthy relationships despite some bad decisions made by the characters. It's very sensitive in showing character's perspectives and feelings, no one is disposable. The villain is similar to trully bad real life people.EmiBonnie are perfect together and even the side couple (ViewMim) are a match made in heaven. Thank god they're gonna have their own GL series too.
The featured opening song is melodical and is synched with the series dramatic story, it gives me goosebumps everytime.
Though, I do think it could be faster, maybe have last episodes, because sometimes it felt like the plot was dragging too slowly.
It's a good show and I'm grateful for it but I'd make it shorter.

an underrated cult classic
I honestly love this Thai GL series. There is always room for improvement, but there are so many qualities. For example, the actresses are gorgeous and do a swell job. Piano is the right fit playing Prey, her innocence comes through and the way she feels so deeply for Earl is relatable and moving! And Sprite playing Earl gives off a vibe of so unattainable and cold sometimes, and at times it shows how she's so sweet and caring towards Prey. Also, Sprite's single Stare at the moon (OST) is one of the best I've heard in a GL series. Overall, the story is beautiful and intricate, so it may take time to understand the relations between the characters, but when you get it, you only wanna watch it again. I've seen backlash from the public towards this GL but I appreciate it to the maximum, and in the future, maybe more people will also see what a hidden gem this is.Was this review helpful to you?
