Given this storyline, if there were to be a season 2 with 12 episodes, then I would think they would include their school days dating / romance period in there, otherwise how in the world can they fill 12 episodes?
If so, then it would make sense that season 1 would end with the confession, and the both of them wondering how their story will unfold from this point onward, which is not a bad way of ending if season 2 doesn't materialise.
As in, from ep 1, we know through SW's narration and everything we are seeing is a recounting of their story (from the past). So I'm wondering where in the current time / moment we are at.
In SW's narration in the ending scene, he says that he doesn't know how this story ends but he remembered sleeping very sounding that night. Would that mean the current time/moment is probably at ep 12 after they both confessed, and everything from episode 1 to 11 is a recounting of the events leading up to that?
The gay-panic-look on Jiang Tian face when Sheng Wang adjusted his position on bed they were together was everything…
It's the same look he had with SW touched him from the back with the two water bottles. Maybe it has to do with whatever incident that left him a scar on the back of his neck?
the correct translation should be "world" not "territory" 😊
The literal translation is "world", but if we consider the context and theme of this episode, and the repeated alluding to crossing of "界线" (boundary between territories), I think "territories" or "private space" might be a more apt translation.
Anyway, I'm not trying to be pedantic here ... just citing whichever helps us appreciate the episode more.
Was sexual innuendo going on in the opening scene of ep 10, when SW took JT's pen refill, put it inside of his pen, and said "... or it is that you entered (or invaded) into my territory?"
Episode 11: What the hell happened? This episode was Bad Buddy-level bad. wtf?I was in it for the beginning; even…
It felt as if they wrote most of the episode as filler to give the supporting cast airtime to make it worth their while. That wouldn't have been that bad per se, but the whole 3-teachers subplot was particularly hard to watch.
I think today's episode served to show that JT has changed socially in his class. He has opened up to the rest of his classmates, and he wants to help A class win because he now feels like he is a part of them. In fact, it's almost as if Qi Jiahao has replaced JT as the class recluse.
Andy Chen shouldn't have been a side character, he should have been cast as Jiang Tian. He gives Gu Hai vibes…
He is absolutely killing it as Gao Tian Yang, so I think the current casting for both GTY and JT are great as they are.
I did love the almost-blooper in ep 2 where he surprised SW from behind so hard that the latter spit up his bottled drink. When he said "sorry", I think it wasn't acting. Well, at least I think that was an almost-blooper.
Rewatching the moments before the second hug in episode 8 again, would it be a stretch to suggest from JT's lip movements and slight twitch in that area, that he actually wanted to kiss SW there and then, but decided to go for the tighter, more sensual hug instead?
LOTS of nice stuff going on here. I can't decide which of the leads is the better actor, so I'll just say they…
Let me play devil's advocate and attempt to defend the bloopers?
1. SW drank his beer all at once, AND before consuming any food, so it is plausible that he got very drunk 2. When Xi Ge say everything except alcoholic drinks were "on the house", it could imply that the students still had to pay the 10% service charge, especially in a nice Western cafe/bistro like that.
So this show is excellent feels, but so far I don't sense any romance. Is that supposed to happen in the last…
I think it depends what qualifies as romance to you. I mean yes, there haven't been any scenes with overt physical or verbal intimacy, at least within a clear romantic context.
However, let's take the scene where JT gives SW his dorm key for example.
If you think about it carefully, this scene has all the markings of a marriage proposal.
JT says "I can't get you your handphone back ...", i.e. I cannot guarantee to provide for your every need
Then, he reaches out and holds SW's hand, and carefully places the key onto the latter's palm, and says, "... but all I have is this (key) that represents my commitment to you - the start of new life together". In this context, one can argue that the key is no different from a ring.
If they were just good friends, JT could have just passed SW the key very casually and say "hey bro, here's the key to our dorm room", and SW could say "awesome bro, thanks. This will be fun!"

Yes, this seems like a crazy over-reaction, even if the thugs were his best buddies.
