I don't get their dialogue over the lemon mint drink kitchen scene, where JT asks SW whether he can pass the next mock test and come back. Is this a teaser dialogue from season 2?

It's not so much SW going to another class as a standalone event. JW knew that from the time SW went back to his own bed, SW was deliberately distancing himself from him. And what kills JT is that he doesn't seem to know why.

I thought Gao Tian Yang was soundly asleep throughout? Only Shi Yu was awake and Jiang Tian was either trying to sleep, or is a light sleeper. This scene seems to serve to juxtapose JT's comfort vs SY's discomfort sleeping next to their "partners".

The cockroach scene:

Was it ever established that SW was scared of cockroaches, or did I miss something in a previous episode?

Yeah, I mean, given the scar that we saw earlier, I thought someone held him down and pressed a cigarette onto him.

It isn't surprising since it was in the official trailer of the show. The only question was how Tian got the scar (which was the most implausible part of this scene)

Yeah, I felt that way about "Unknown". The last two episodes felt rushed, compared with the slow pace of the first 10.

Did you guys enjoy the scenes where Gao Tian Yang got incredibly clingy / handsy with Shi Yu in bed?

Yeah I hope they put on underwear before the kid walked into the scene. But kudos to the kid actor too. The look of disbelief and disappointment was all too real.

Which is the more reasonable interpretation of the almost-kiss bed scene?

1. JT woke up only after SW climbed up, noticed him gone, looked up and saw that he had climbed onto his own bed. His expression was that of separation anxiety.
2. JT was awake the whole time and felt SW drawing close to almost-kiss him. He played dead, and opened his eyes only after SW climbed onto his own bed. His expression was that of conflict because of his past, and the realization that their relationship had progressed to this point.

I am more inclined to go with (1), because in the earlier scene, we can see he has gotten very comfortable sleeping on the same bed as SW. He also expressed dismay (though he refused to say it ) when SW suggested it was time for him to return to his own bed. Also, this sets the scene for the next episode where SW will continue to distance himself from JT.

Oh yes, there is no other way to read that but the death stare of a jealous lover. JT's stoicism continues to really melt away this episode. And he is so comfortable being in the same bed as SW now. Did you see his face when SW said he wanted to move back up?

Yeah. 2026 is a such a loooong time away.

As much as I appreciate how they took the time to tell the story, and develop the characters, I did kind of wish they finished the novel within 1 season, like "Unknown" (although even for that show, the last two episodes felt a bit rushed)

That part still confuses me. Cos Zai Tao seemed to looking down or at Jiang Tian when he muttered "f--k your mom", so I didn't catch how it was in any way directed at Sheng Wang

If they wanted to give her some airtime, I think even giving her another version of a forbidden love subplot, where she secretly dates a male student, would have worked better.

I guess JT picked that place at random, or maybe cos it made sense to enter from there when returning from Old Man Ding's place (as per his lie)

I am also guessing again, but I think he ran to:
1. Mostly cover up his lie (he didn't want SW to know that he spent the day holed up in the dorm preparing study notes/material for SW)
2. He was afraid SW would fall down / trip and hurt himself

I like your point about flashback within a flashback. Then again, since the series started with SW's narration of the past, it also feels weird we are seeing scenes that he had completely no knowledge about.

I just don't find it feasible that the teachers haven't figured out their couple status at this point. We'd have to assume that it had been 2 to 3 years since they met, since Lin Bei was only year 2 uni back then. So in 2 to 3 years, they haven't figured out their relationship, and yet Lin Bei followed Zhao Xi back to open a cafe in his hometown, and it never occured to Zhao Xi to ask why?
