I always felt that Lee Hye Ri looked similar to Jung So Min and actually mistook the former for the latter when I started the drama. I am now on eps 6 and I now see that I am not crazy at all.
This drama is a good example of how sometimes ratings on MDL is skewed. I am on eps 25 and its been great. Chengxiao acting is subpar (only really has one expression) but all in all, if you like the genre, definitely give it a try.
One of the most unique k-drama I have watched in a while. It's almost have a Sherlock Holmes vibe minus the pretentiousness. Main FL is Holmes minus the need to explain everything.
Stayed for Suzy, left because it just wasn't good. The fact that they overcame all the obstacles with such easy, in an almost deus ex machina manner, made this drama unwatchable. Sad.
It's a pity she's written that way. Because compared to everyone else, her actions aren't that bad (she's not…
She is just as spoiled and conceited as the other children. Morally, her actions are bad; however, its her whining and entitlement that irks me. The others I can understand due to their upbringing but in her case, it boggles me. It has gotten ever so slightly more digestible though (now on eps 6).
It wasn't as good as some poster's make it seem. It was alright. I felt I tried to do too many things and failed to do anything exceptionally well. 8/10
This documentary really portrayed the dark underside of the K-pop industry as much as the resilience of BP. It was exceptionally inspiring due to how it was told and all the unseen faces (those that did not make it, the support staff, Teddy) but also showed the patriarchal nature of said industry. The documentary is essentially two parts, pre-stardom and post-stardom and the joy and tribulations they faced in each.
The drama also highlighted the different "roles" each member plays and how there is almost a symbiotic relationship between each member. I was a casual BLINK that was semi-aware of the dark underbelly of the K-pop industry (totally reminded me of The Mickey Mouse Club). But after this documentary, I definitely have a deeper appreciation of BP and a stronger disdain of the K-pop industry. I am happy they were able to at least somewhat able to speak freely (I am sure plenty was censored).
I can also comfortably give it a 9.5 out of 10. The one thing missing was more interaction with their company, YG, to show how that interaction guides BP.
