Not that special

I was very excited to watch this series, as many people had recommended it to me, calling it one of the best Korean BL dramas to date. However, after watching it, I found myself somewhat disappointed.

At no point did the series feel particularly special to me. The episodes are too short to allow for meaningful development, with some lasting only 10 or 11 minutes. With just eight episodes in total, the entire series barely reaches two hours, which I believe is insufficient to fully flesh out the story.

I enjoyed only the first two episodes. From the third episode onward, the pacing became tiresome and repetitive, making it difficult to stay engaged. Additionally, Where Your Eyes Linger fails to develop its characters in a way that allows the audience to connect with them. As a result, the emotional impact is weakened, and the story feels underdeveloped.

Great start, bad ending.

The premise of the show was really something different. I was excited to know how it would end, and how things would unfold. At the 6th episode, sadly, I realized that it was not going anywhere.

The plot become confusing, and I still don't get why he was in the game, who put him there and for what reason.

Another thing that pissed me off was the fact that the game was malfunctioning, and at no point was it clear why this was happening. I also thought that the secondary characters were poorly developed, and that a lot could have been added. The main characters are great, but their relationships are poorly developed. We briefly see that one of them has an abusive father, but that isn't properly developed either. We also barely know anything about the characters' lives, and everything that is presented is done in a vague manner. What started as a relationship with little affection, in my opinion, changed format quickly, where the writers allowed one of them to fall intensely in love in a short time (even though one episode before he still hated the other).

I have to admit that I love Korean BLS, because of the different rhythm they have. But this one disappointed me deeply. I didn't expect to be so frustrated.

Incredible show

I absolutely adored the show. It become one of my favorite BLS of all time! Cake and Eiw had such a good chemistry, and I fell in love with Cooheart. The way Cake was always there for Eiw helping him with his insecurities was so adorable, and when they had to separate it was absolutely heartbreaking. I have to admit that I cried, and that never happened before when it comes to watching BLS. The closest I’ve come to crying was when I was watching “Love in the Big City” (2024).

But I really disliked the last two episodes of the show. In my opinion they brought unnecessary drama causing Eiw’s mother to die of cancer. They could’ve just let the last 2 episodes be happy and show the relationship of Cake and Eiw evolving as boyfriends.

In the end, I really liked the show.
