dont forget about the drinking culture in korea where children and their parents drink together
It's also normal in my country. It's actually weirder if you stop young people from drinking. It's better for them to start around friends and family rather than secretly learn bad drinking habits from unknown people.

Ok I think Im more than halfway the drama now and can we please appreciate how pretty the female lead is whenever she CRIES??? Esp with the new hairstyle. Like she's so cute and pretty while her tears are just rolling down. Last time I saw this kind of A+++ crying performance from an actress was Zhao Liying.

Also I love her interactions with Shi Ying. I want to push all history and grudges and politics to the side, just let them be, stop using them as pawns and just give both of them space.

Im on Ep 3 right now in Netflix and what the fuq, the action scene caught me off guard.

They really don't have to go hard as they did (it's not like I have high expectations for fancy fight scenes in a romance xianxia drama) but holy hell did that fight scene surprised me. It's so snappy and so good.

Oh no that's a shame. But I guess there's a reason why they managed to speed through the review with no problems, with a lot of episodes. Hopefully they changed it for the better.

My coworker wants to watch this (She's a huge GGS fan) but has money issues right now.
Does anyone know an ad-free (or at least tolerable) links for my-siantv, dramac-ol or k-sskh? Or any other site you know?

So, does anyone know what is the meaning of the title "Agarwood like crumbs"?
I haven't read the novel, but I looked into Chapter 1 and it's the first sentence
"In a silent empty court, there's a furnace of crumbled agarwood"
Agarwood is used as incense, crumbled ones have turned to ashes since it's been used/burned already....so I guess it's a metaphor for loneliness? of times gone by?

So, they pulled this out. It was re-examined this afternoon and the authorities must've found something sensitive/problematic in their POV and now we see the results. In Weibo, they're saying Wei DaXun's role will become the main lead while they will try to edit out or lessen the airtime of Li Xian's role.

"Parents or sometimes siblings who decide what or who the adult ML or FL must do/date/marry/study etc."
Sadly I see this in real life, on a daily basis, I think most of Asian culture will relate to this. My mom fortunately doesn't do this kind of thing, but it did not stop my aunts or uncles from meddling or giving unsolicited advice.

Somebody pls time travel and tell my younger self to stop watching TV where the cdramas on broadcast are all too tragic :((

As a 90s kid, the internet is not yet a huge part of life back then up to the 2000s, there's no "tragic" tag that could've warned me

"this is what’s ruining society"

It's easier said than done. And my goodness, you've been lowkey victim-blaming all this time and demanding/pressuring a guy who is relieving his trauma on a much bigger scale. That is a very dangerous mindset to have missy. Hopefully you won't bring this bs to real life. You sound like one of those guys who will tell people with clinical depression "just smile and everything will be ok" or "It's your fault for not going out much"

I was surprised when I mentioned this to the Chinese kid I'm tutoring (He's in college but I help him out with Engish lit analysis). He said that the doctor issue does happen in China once in a while, and it is usually due to a lot of Chinese people have so little understanding when it comes to the medical industry.

Title The Oath of Love Spoiler
Is he like on par with Kim soo hyun, Park Seo Joon, etc. in terms of buzz in his own country?
Well I think he's one of the top versatile actors there right now (acting + singing *swoon*), his appearances always boost ratings and his dramas have been quite good lately. I guess it helped that people saw him improve so much. He is also the global ambassador for some fancy brands (I think Gucci and TOD's?), which is unique since we barely see Chinese celebrities promoting here abroad.

I'm not sure if he compares with KSH or PSJ though, Korean entertainment industry feels similar to the US, where the divide between singers, "serious" actors, idols and other "types" of celebrity is stricter.

I tend to hear Xiao Zhan sing the songs to his dramas, my favorite is the Ending Song of his drama Joy of Life

How's it??? Boring? Too many problems? tia!
When I first watched the first few episodes, time flew, I almost didnt notice. It's cute, a bit of a slice of life, just slowly getting to know each other, with a few hilarious embarrassing moments here and there. The videos after the episodes are very cute too.
