this was actually good, not sure why so many are bashing it. The flow of the story made sense and there was palpable chemistry between the mls. I personally see no need for it to be any longer, the story fit the web drama length perfectly.
Overall a good show, would probably not choose to watch it over some other more recent bls (ie Kinnporsche or star in my mind), but defo worth the watch if you have a spare 2hrs.
A masterpiece that is criminally underrated. I genuinely sobbed - full on snot and all - during every episode. Coming from a country outside of Korea, this drama brought to light the issues within a country that many of us picture as perfect, as each storyline highlighted a social problem hidden from the international audience’s eyes.
With no love story line, it is also a breath of fresh air compared to many of the Kdramas out there. A must watch, not only is the acting top notch, but the cinematography is stunning.
Hoping for a season 2, but am honestly happy with the ending, I’m just greedy for more.
Don’t put off this drama any longer, but make sure you watch with a box of tissues and gallons of water.
absolutely mad, there is no other description. Haven't watched a movie this good in years and it is safe to say it will stick with me for a while. Defo worth the watch!
I’m gonna be honest, I was pretty confused on what was happening most the time. There are so many loose ends that I gave up trying to work out the story line. The mains are cute, and their kiss was incredible (like Thai bl level kissing), so I guess sticking around till the last episode is worth it.
All in all, worth a watch if you have 1.5 hours spare, not for the story, but for the actors.
Ngl, the ending was awful. Felt super rushed, a crap ending to an otherwise decent series. I have to admit though, the main couple did feel a bit off, and I did cringe hard at some of their interactions. For me, I stayed for the second couple. Their chemistry was insane, it genuinely felt like they were together. And not to mention their shower scene *cough*. They had some of the best kisses in the whole bl universe. It had me screaming into my pillow they were so hot.
For me, defo worth the watch, but honestly could leave the last episode out as it added literally nothing to the series (apart from a small joy for the second couple). A solid 7 stars, would be closer to 9 if not for the shocking ending.
Honestly, the show was pretty boring and super predictable. The first episode showed promising signs of being a good bl: a tragic back story, love that transcends time. But it unfortunately fell into a predictable bl, with an obvious dom who is cold but eventually opens up, and a sub who is overly sweet and cries literally every 5 minutes.
I personally stayed for the second couple. Even though they probably had a combined screen time of roughly 20 mins in the whole 16 hours of the program, their story was not only more enjoyable, but also more convincing. The main couple (both pre time skip and after time skip) seemed flat and the actors did not act in a way that made the characters look as in love as they actually were. However, the second couple blossomed from a friendship. It seemed so much more genuine and the actor’s who played them had crazy amounts of Chemistry. So much so that a spin off has been made to show the development of their relationship. It comes out in 2022, but here’s the link to the page: https://kisskh.at/60637-hemp-rope
Overall, I skipped most of the drama come episode 6, but every time I saw the second couple I watched their scene all the way through. Personally, I wouldn’t waste my time on the whole program, maybe watch a couple clips here and there. It wasn’t awful, but knowing the standard of Thai bl, this was in my opinion pretty sub par. PS: I know they get their production money from product placement, but boy was it heavy in this drama. The placements, especially the makeup one was so disruptive to the story line it drove me insane. They could be crying one minute, then the girl would whip out her compact for a quick product placement saying something along the lines of ‘oh I don’t wanna look pale’.
I don’t normally comment but I am so emotionally wrecked from this program I’m still crying as I write this now. I cannot express how much you need to watch this, the acting, the storyline, the cinematography are all out of this world. I am pretty tough when it comes to shows, but I think I cried in every episode of this one. If you are on the fence on whether to watch or not, I guarantee you will not regret watching. I don’t think any program will ever be able to evoke so much sadness from me again. I’m off to chug water to make up for the last 10 hours of crying.
