The trend of Korean short form dramas just going "look, two boys kiss!" without any sort of buildup of character or relationship, or even decent acting, is getting old fast. And this feels more like Taewoo's villain origin story than a romance between Geonwoo and Jaeyeon.

"I have always been second to my brother, and I lost my mother to his management and my father to his desperate bid for custody, and you have been the only person that has chosen me and I love you." -Taewoo

"I'm Sad :("- Geonwoo

"This guy accused me of being the stalker that eventually stabbed him that in the end had no relevance to the plot the first time we met. I see why he is the better brother. Goodbye lifelong friend" - Jaeyeon

And the "I see you're both doing so well" from the father tipped the whole table. One is a famous actor. One is... struggling with Everything. Yep. Both doing just. So well.

Glad it's so short.

Yi and Adson were my #1 from the start, so I'm v happy they ended up in a CP. But I also feel so bad for Chen Yu. Everything was laid out and Robert decided... no one? Throw away a guaranteed result? Suddenly decided he didn't want to be a BL actor? It was wild.

Was also rooting for Pink and Guei. so close 😭😭

Filmed on a shoestring budget with minimal understanding or desire to show an actual football/soccer team or life ofban actor/idol. And yet utterly charming. Kay and Minsu being the background accidental gossip boys were some of my favorite bits.

And bless the English translation team that gave walls of text for all the onscreen live comments/text etc. I paused every time to read them all and wish we had more teams as dedicated to giving as much context as possible. 💙

....Why is "mixed-race" in the synopsis? At no point in the show does it matter that Elyes/James is Thai/New Zealander. He's paler than his costars? That is literally the only difference?

I'm placing my bet now that the real murderer is actually the one no one would suspect because he's the sweet…
I'm betting on Seungju

I'm guessing the "My man was fatally wounded" in the previews for ep 10 was a bad translation.
Sounds like "could have died".

If I don't figure out what the song is that is haunting me, I'm going to scream. It's the one that appears in…
Looks like it's by Sungjin of Day6? But I can't find the actual song anywhere ;__; Glad we're all going nuts looking for it.

Yuan Danop looked at the forever unfinished show that was the turning point for Chinese BL being censored and confidently said in 2024 "I want to ~revolutionize Thai BL by removing kissing and NC scenes just to see if fans will still pay attention to the ~acting." He bromanced the reason there is bromance. And I hope his wallet and future directing get hit hard because this is blatant IP milking and disdain for the target audience at its finest.

It's both sad and hilarious that he banked on a season 2. The story and the actors deserved better.

For a show that is supposedly focused on unbelievably beautiful jewelry, the accessories and wardrobe are fugly as hell. Bank is pretty. He's not pretty enough to save the truly hideous styling, the cringe of "Khun Dad", or the least subtle substitute cumshot via white paint.

Bank cried on a livestream halfway through the series airing because of the negative reception of the show, and I do feel sorry for him. But the show sucked and even shoehorning in Dancing with the Devil isn't going to promote him.

Why can't people view this series as an individual, separate series to their previous installments? I don't understand.…
Close Friends is an established series that features couples from other shows in either an extention of the show or a little AU snippet. It is an anthology, not a connected plot. And the anthology focuses on BL couples.

"Didn't watch season 1 or 2 but ~DoNt HaTe~" is a real bad take. Get you some context before you start talking.

There are 2 established het couples and Win kissing everyone while completely smashed and the whole bit of him questioning his sexuality and the actual queer plot gets thrown under the bus when "Yeah. You kissed all of us. Fucking funny, man, no need to have gay panic:)"

There are two het romances that are prominent and crumbs of BL content. So yeah. This isn't part of Close Friends, and no, there shouldn't be ~waaah why can't we like thing from thing~ because this SHOULD have been listed as something different.
