This drama is not underrated at all, infact it is overrated. It's been 6 yrs since it released. It's not a really good drama, but I agree that the unrealistic expectations portrayed in here makes everyone drawn to it.
I also feel the same, do hwa told that he proposed her in shadow not on stage, but still she somehow remembered that he proposed her, even though the writer didn't write that part in the stage.
